I guess I see D/s as more than just physical gratification, the dynamic is supposed to enhance that for both partners, if it just turns into a pissing contest, then even sexual gratification is less... gratifying, more mechanical, less emotionally involved, although anger is an emotion that can be sublimated as well.
But there is both, it's a mind/body interaction, there is attitude, and then there's technique, and generally, I tend to study technique so that I don't have to think about that as much during the act itself, but can focus on the interplay, sort of the way I approach everything, whether art, music, etc., i.e. theory is just the underlying mechanics of the thing, technique is the "touch" you use to produce the desired result, a unique and hopefully, mutually satisfying experience.
Because it's unique, one is hard put to discuss it in any way besides retrospective analysis, i.e., analyzing an event that has already occurred, whether the performance of a particular piece of music, or a given scene or interpersonal dynamic.
So, it seems to me that we can either recount our own satisfactory experiences, or discuss the algorithmic aspects of it - like the V-I motion, what is it that works every time? Is there such a thing in D/s, or even sex in general?
