I am getting up from another black out.  I am looking for ideas to get at the root of such events.

1. food moving thru the colon correctly.
2. detoxing from 10 years of SSRIs.  I am down to 75 mg of effexxor
3. weather systems, been very windy.

4. I have reduced ALL meds. and do not drink.

Is there a component I am missing?

Here is how it evolves.  I get tired.   Then VERY tired. Of late the day night is mixed up.    I just want to lay down and feel warm.  ANd lay still.  These are not severe like yeas ago- where I was afraid to drive.   Ok- so I dream alot while sleeping.  Not really nightmares- but not really sugar plumbs.   So then the poop has to come out.  First claylike.  Then loose, then watery.  As the time goes on.  Usually 24-29 hours.   I usually get a flu shot but have not this year on purpose.

Sometimes during the sleep I eat snacks- I dont like to go down the stairway as I am afraid I will fall.

Then- and here is the part where I hate the black outs. I vomit violently.  Sometimes I can stop this by taking my ADHD meds.

I am out of ideas as to what makes these and how to lessen them. I went like 8 months with out even 1. Now I had 5 of them in a months time.

So- what I am missing?  WHat should I monitor?    The grocer clerk comments and how I eat well.  I dont have any substantial problems in life. The pain levels from injury are managable.   I hope it stays this way.

If anyone is chronic pain please jump in.   Jenny thought rain did it but I think it is more a weather pattern.  Nor easternors- are one such pattern here in PA.

What am I missing?????   WHat should I explore?

As an amateur doctor I'd diagnose Gulf War Syndrome therefore I think you should go and visit a real doctor.

No DRs.  I am not going for test upon test upon test.

NO DOCTORS.

My grandmother never goes and she is in better shape then I am.

You trust random internet people for your health diagnosis, but not professionals who have gone to school for years. Apparently, this attitude is becoming trendy, and cute.

I have no sympathy for you.

This is nothing a forum can help you with, except to encourage you to go to your doctor who can refer you to a specialist.....what you are explaining could be a number of diagnosis which need treatment.  And for gods sake,,,,take your ADHD medication as prescribed!!!!!

I hate tests too but to investigate a problem you need something more to go by and the symptoms you describe could cover a lot of things.

Don't accept free advice where your health is concerned it's not in your best interest. Find one problem solver for a consistent approach otherwise you'll end up being tested for the same things numerous times even though they've already been ruled out in tests conducted by others in the past. You need to build up a relationship with your doctor, a history that will give them more of an idea what the problem is.

Hunk: Seriously, pursue Alternative Medicine.

There are medical doctors who are fully-trained in "Ordinary" medicine,
who have additionally been trained in "Alternatives".

They are called: Naturopaths.

Find One. Give zie ALL your current info: diet, prescriptions and dosages.

If you need to go outside of PA to find one... well, it IS your health, so consider doing so.

I am betting your meds have royally been messin' with you.

Well Wishes... ~k

kiyari beat me to it.  Western medicine is very good, but it doesn't catch everything.  When it doesn't, time to call in the Easterners.

Effexxor effects the synapses ion the brain- the shooting of them.  The electric circuits so to speak.  At the time, SSRI was a lifesaver.  But time has passed, and I dont want to need that med any more.  But I also know that I would rather go very slow and get it right- rather then for this detox attept to be failure number 3.

I read up on it- and KNOW it must be done slowly.  Maybe I went to fast from 150 to 75.  But 75 seems to have been a good point to be at for now.  There is flouride in those pills and that is rat poiseninng.

I like your idea the best.

I actually DO see my psy dr.  But I am nervous over that- because I was late one time and he flipped out.  When I do see him we talk politics.

DRs have their time and place.  But much of it is a racket.

THanks for this reply.

I'm not a doctor but black outs or seizures are very serious and you should see a doctor.

It was your sympathy that I asked for.  It was ideas on how to solve the problem.  I dont underestimate the talent on this board.

Besides- I tend to disagree more of the time then agree with anyone or anything.

I am not too interested in what the crowd is doing.     "attitude is trendy and cute".      Ya might want to look at some of my prior pasts to accurately  gauge,  how my attitude is.

Just sayn-

I am debating if I want to tell my psychiatrist that 225 mg of effexxor is acceptable.  He might not want to hear this.

Well..being you don't go to drs but yet you're meds...

either you've self diagnosed yourself and are getting meds illegally which is probably the reason for your blackouts...

or you've gone to a dr before and now you've decided to play dr yourself by reducing your meds..again the reason for your blackouts...

Dude..go see a dr and get it straightened out. No one here can help you.

Um. Maybe you should take another look at your pills and get your information down right first of all.

This is what you are taking:  C17H27NO2 HCl

This is sodium fluoride- the main ingredient in the rat poison you are talking about: NaF

Also, it is Effexor. Not Effexxor.

*edit* It took the subscript away... ugh. But anyway- you get the point.

I agree with the posts above. The only thing I will add is to stay away from the pill pushers. In most cases all medicine does is minimize symptoms and does nothing to fix the problem. Find a Doctor who will seek the root cause of your problems. Only then can a Doctor determine a recovery path for you.

Tests will be necessary, if you have ever watched House, you will know that the first diagnosis is not always the right one, and yes, that show does reflect reality.

Okay, so i'm a little confused. Are you taking 225mg, 150mg or 75mg? You've mentioned 3 different dosages. Or do you just take however many at a time that you feel like? These are some pretty serious meds that you really shouldn't be self-adjusting or messing with in any way. See your Psychiatrist and discuss the symptoms with him. Then, ask for a referral for a medical doctor.

Just because Grandma has never been to the doctor and is as healthy as can be doesn't mean that you are as fortunate. Hell, my grandma's 95 and playing golf and has never had anything worse than the flu in her life but, i had a liver failure when i was 14 and a transplant when i was 15. Not everyone is lucky, unfortunately, some of us get screwed health-wise. SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!! Before you end up dead.

Dammit. This is some scary stuff you're talking about, don't put it off. And yes, i've heard of Eastern medicine working for some folks too but man, sometimes you just need the pharmaceuticals. Do whatever works but don't self medicate or diagnose yourself on the internet. "WebMD" is not a real doctor.

Then ask your grandmother.

Or better yet, consult an Ouija board.

Or even better, open up a medical dictionary, lean it up against the wall, and  throw a dart at it from the other side of the room. It doesn't matter where you decide to get your medical advice, because with all due respect I don't believe you're capable of processing it anyway. You're just shopping for opinions that reinforce your own internal bias against doctors, and grasping at whatever answers support the way you've already decided to think.

I honestly don't mean any offense, because i really like you, but anyone who seriously believes that a bunch of high-school dropouts surfing porn sites in their underwear give better medical advice than doctors, because doctors are scam artists, and whose understanding of the way the human body works is such that he seriously believes weather patterns can cause fainting spells, is immune to genuine good advice because he wouldn't recognize it if it rode past him on a unicycle playing a trombone. I don't think it matters who you go to, because I think you're only going to hear what you want to hear and throw the rest of it in the trash can on the way out the door as you walk back to your car muttering under your breath about quacks. All I can say is good luck. I really hope that whatever it is, you somehow manage to survive it in spite of yourself, because you're a really good guy and I'd hate to see you have to stop posting on account of being dead.

If you aren't going to follow up with an MD, then what do you care what it may be ?  You'll have a name for a condition that will persist and probaly get worse and perhaps lead to your death or vegatative state. What you are describing doesn't just go away.

Yes, I am a nurse.. wouldn't even take a stab at what may be wrong here. I also avoid MDs and Western Medicine and go to Naturopaths and Alternative MDs.  However, when I woke up one day, so swollen from my feet to my hips that I couldn't even see my kneecaps, they looked like balloons. I knew I needed to see a real live Medical Doctor.

My first dominant had an aversion to MDs also. He developed a seizure disorder after a motorcycle accident. Refused medicine, refused to see MDs. Eventually he had a seizure at a grocery store and was 911'd to the ER. CT Scan showed large holes in his brain, he was told he needed treatment or would die, after a long period of suffering. He refused and I took care of him thru a long ugly death. Took him 1 1/2 year to die. Did he regret his stupidity ? yes, he did. Not because he was dying, but because of the death he chose. He always thought it would be quick and painless, despite my educating him, pleading and screaming.

I'm not telling you you have something that severe, but you never know. Carry on as you will, neglect your health. Your call.

As for sympathy, sorry can't give it. It's like you being on fire and a bucket of water being right beside you and you tell me the water is not purified, you won't use it.

I couldn't take Effexor, it gave me night terrors.  I got off it fairly quickly, but ever since I have very vivid dreams.  Paxil ended up working the best, but then when I thought I didn't need it any longer, I couldnt get off it for many reasons.  I hate Drs and meds as much or more than the average person, but I go anyway and take my  meds, because I'd like to know I did what I could to stay my current 5 ft 9 instead of being 6 foot under.
