Get to the f'n doctor, for god's sake.  Get over it.  Bring a book/ipod with movies.   I really don't want to be reading about you going postal because you were just a weenie about going to a doctor.

Buck up.  Be strong.  And go to the doctor....or go to a different doctor.   But don't ask a bunch of people on a message board to diagnose you...we aren't licensed to do that.

I am getting up from another black out.
I get tired. Then VERY tired. So then the poop has to come out.  First claylike.  Then loose, then watery.
Then- and here is the part where I hate the black outs. I vomit violently.  Sometimes I can stop this by taking my ADHD meds.

I read on wikipedia: ""clay-like" appearance to the feces is the result of a lack of bilirubin".

Bilirubin is waste that remains from broken down dead red blood cells, a natural end phase in the life of red blood cells; bilirubin is disposed off into the intestine.

The clay-like appearance indicates that your body does not produce red blood cells in sufficient quantities. Hence possibly also your extreme fatigue. It is indicative of some kind of anemia. One cause of anemia may be a lack of vitamin B12. Or there may be a lack of folic acid (folate) - stomach cancer is a possibility and needs to be checked for.
Vomiting also may be a cause (and consequence?) of lack of vitamin B12 and folate and iron, as what is vomited out cannot be taken up by the body.
Glucocorticoids may cause anemia. Since you are in chronic pain, you may have been given glucocorticoids for a prolonged time causing this lack of red blood cells. In my opinion this is the most likely cause in your case.

Then there is the disease of Addison, which may cause anemia. Unlikely in your case, I would guess.

A lack of glutamate may cause anemia. Also unlikely in your case, I would guess. (Might be that too much of glutamate causes your chronic pain, but that is a wild guess.)

I agree with others: you ought to go see a physician.

Edited to add: glucocorticoids also may cause depression. Since SSRIs are used to treat depressions, this is another indication that glucocorticoids may be the cause of several of your medical problems.

No.    I think per haps I should write out a journal of sorts.  Last night I did not sleep- got up at 2pm.    Thanks to all for replies.

If I do approach my general dr or my psche, I must have it all wrote out.    Hugs to all.

I automatically DO see a psch and a GP.   So that will happen. One aspect is WHICH Dr handles it.   I had a concussion a few years ago and went for tests and at the end of it all- I learned a shocking news.  That I in fact had suffered a concussion. lol.

You most likely also learned that you did not have a subdural hematoma or an intercranial bleed or a cerebral hemmorhage. The tests were to rule out an acute injury that would have required surgical interventions to save your life.

You need look no further than that poor actress who died from an undiagnosed bleed a few weeks ago, to show you what the possibility could have been had you not undergone the tests. The same tests you are trivializing would have saved her life. You were fortunate that all they revealed was a concussion, You should be grateful, not chiding, that the tests confirmed your suspicions.

If I read correctly, you're still taking Effexor? If you plan to stop, it is very dangerous to just stop. It sounds like you have several issues going on and the only suggestion I have for you is seek advice from professionals.
I apologize if I got the information wrong, I can't go back and read some of these posts... some people just piss me off!

ANYWAY, no one can make you do anything, but since you've come to the boards seeking advice........ GO SEE A PROFESSIONAL.

Good luck

Head zaps.  that fits.  The blurb on antihistamines.  Sinuses have been bad the past few weeks.  I might have gone too fast from 150 mg to 75 mg.  I think I wont try to drop any more for the summer.  This sounds more serious then I expected.  One is suppose to go down slowly.  I know it takes maybe 6 weeks to kick in.   If one is not used to efexxor it is a big shock on the system.  Thanks!

ARGH!! No self-diagnosis on the internet!!! The internet is meant as a resource for information, not as a way to diagnose yourself just 'cause you don't want to see the doctor. This is sooooo dangerous.

If i wasn't sitting on the couch using my laptop i would so bang my head against a desk.

Oh look, a wall!!

Oh, and FYI: Effexor is actually an SNRI (Seritonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor). So, instead of just one neurotransmitter you're playing with two. Think that might be part of it? i'm sorry, but YOU'RE MESSING WITH YOUR BRAIN CHEMISTRY!!! You need to see a doctor, this isn't something that you can fix at home like a bad headache and you just pop some Excedrin. You need to see someone who is trained in this stuff.

And i don't know if i'd recommend "journaling" per se. Just write down all of the signs and symptoms, when they began, the severity, the characteristics...use lots of adjectives to describe stuff. It should be maybe a 30-minute process at most.

See your Psychiatrist first. He will talk to you and be able to refer you to another doctor to run tests*if* necessary. Psychiatrists are actually MDs, they just specialize in Psychology.

Just quit diagnosing yourself on the damn internet, you need to get your ass to the doctor.

Hello.

I am coming off of a black out.  I know.  Being that this one is 6 days from the last- I wont be alive by end of summer at this rate.

Here is my plan.  Today is Sunday, I want to write up an email to my DR asking for blood work.  I like the closer DR but no way will I wait there. Too many tests.  So- I want to write up- email today to arrange the blood work.  I think this is now medical.  It reminds me of how when my gall bladder was bad- how my body shut down.

ANyhow-  with the male DR across the river- one only waits 20 minutes, not 2 hours.  He too has a good bedside manner.

I prefer not to have to go to the large med center- but if they and only they have the right machines so be it.  I am an odd mess.  I have to be well enough to physically go to the DR. and if I feel well- then why go?   The black outs were NEVER this frequent.

ANything I want to be sure to put in the email?

Good luck and take care of yourself. men die at a faster rate than woman because theyignore their bodies, tough it out and dont go to the doctor till its too late. I have seen many die this way.

I want to navigate the system to my benefit.  That might sounds selfish.   Nothing works on a Sunday here.   So expressing myself correctly should save hastle.  That is what I want to do. I have to find another in case of emergency contact.  Mom moved out of state 2 years ago. I had been using a buddy but he is worse then me.  So a neighbor.  Shirley knows alot about my health maybe her.

PA,

Have you previously spoken to any of your doctors about these episodes?

What I would suggest is for you to describe the symptoms in detail, in chronological order.

A blackout is the name you give it.

By describing the symptoms you will be helping the physician.

Include what you were doing prior to the beginning of this last episode.

Even if you email them, bring the email with you to reference.

Always bring a list of all the medications you take, even the over the counter stuff or the stuff you might use infrequently (like your ADD meds)

What is the duration of these episodes... both the shortest and the longest.

Have you been experiencing any other seemingly unrelated symptoms?

an emergency contact doesn't necessarily have to know much about your health, they would be the person the clinic contacts if you are unwell and need someone to come and take you home etc (or at least that is what they use this contact for over here)

I am glad you are going to go to a doctor PA, let us know how things go for you.
