ORIGINAL: sophia37 Here. I found this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSRI_discontinuation_syndrome You might read thru it. ARGH!! No self-diagnosis on the internet!!! The internet is meant as a resource for information, not as a way to diagnose yourself just 'cause you don't want to see the doctor. This is sooooo dangerous. If i wasn't sitting on the couch using my laptop i would so bang my head against a desk. Oh look, a wall!! Oh, and FYI: Effexor is actually an SNRI (Seritonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor). So, instead of just one neurotransmitter you're playing with two. Think that might be part of it? i'm sorry, but YOU'RE MESSING WITH YOUR BRAIN CHEMISTRY!!! You need to see a doctor, this isn't something that you can fix at home like a bad headache and you just pop some Excedrin. You need to see someone who is trained in this stuff. And i don't know if i'd recommend "journaling" per se. Just write down all of the signs and symptoms, when they began, the severity, the characteristics...use lots of adjectives to describe stuff. It should be maybe a 30-minute process at most. See your Psychiatrist first. He will talk to you and be able to refer you to another doctor to run tests*if* necessary. Psychiatrists are actually MDs, they just specialize in Psychology. Just quit diagnosing yourself on the damn internet, you need to get your ass to the doctor.
