Maybe I was misunderstanding you before. Are you making a distinction between critizing her and ridiculing her? Is that where you're coming from?

You've got the idea.  There is a distinct difference between those two things.  Criticizing is fine.  I just find ridicule... which is meant to deride, mock and humiliate... distasteful and unbecoming.

Well, I hate to point out the obvious in your self-righteous sermonizing, but all you have done is ridicule the people you perceive as ridiculing Palin.

I haven't seen you post a word about the original topic of the thread which, in case you forgot or didn't bother to read,  was the numerous ethics lawsuits against her.

I can't help if you believe I'm being self-righteous... but I would argue that I have not maligned or made fun of anyone here.  Questioning behavior is not ridicule.

And I'm sorry if you intended your original post to be about the ethics lawsuits.  It would seem pretty much everyone who has posted here missed that.  [;)]

No, but coming into a thread and questioning others' posts does give you a slight appearance of having a 'holier-than-thou.'

However, the key here is that you don't care what we think of you.......and yet you seem to think we care what you think of us.

Funny that. If you don't want to read posts bashing a nitwit.....don't. But complaining about those same posts does nothing in the long run.

I notice they same people who call Palin "stupid" and make fun of her also called GWB "stupid" and made fun of him, as he was kicking their side's asses in elections.

Please don't insult Perez Hilton by comparing him in any way to Snowmobile Barbie. Have some decency, man.

To say some celebrity chasing, drama queen blogger has made a bigger impact on your life than one of only 50 Governors of the U.S. is pretty pathetic...Really

indeed; the subjects' response is the same even when the condition is competely altered.

thus we can ascertain that the condition has no influence on the subjects' response, and therefore that the objects of the observation must be in fact stupid.

....i think the more interesting element is the machine that put them up for election in the first place...and what that choice says about their view of the American electorate.

She's a governor of a state that has a population less than many small to mid-sized cities.

Columbus, Ohio has a bigger population than the entire state she governs.

Hey, maybe that's where the Republicans ought to look for their next presidential candidate, the mayor of Columbus.

He has loads of that all-important executive experience.

...unless you actually live in the state of a specific governor, then surely a nationally syndicated media blogger would have more impact. Unless you're collecting governor memorabilia.

I'm thinking that maybe what Rob is failing to grasp is that I was making fun of Palin, by suggesting that comparing her to Perez Hilton is an insult to Hilton. Maybe it just went over his head. But if  that's not what happened, then I'm back to being totally bewildered by what he said.

kittinSol -> RE: America's favorite drama queen in the news again (6/23/2009 2:47:31 PM)

No, a few haven't, but most threads seem to take on a life of their own anyway.

At least we're still talking about Palin.

No, I got your dig, and my reply pointed out your fallacy of pretending Palin rates lower than Hilton.

Hilton is a wanna be celebrity blogger, Palin is a Governor of a US state. You're implying that a US Governor rates lower that a celebrity wanna be, and they shouldn't be compared, because it makes Hilton out to look like a genius, and Palin a fool.

atropa7 -> RE: America's favorite drama queen in the news again (6/23/2009 10:08:22 PM)

Isn't rob blagojevich a fool? Being elected to the office of senator, governor, or even president is not mutually exclusive with being a fool, pompous ass, or stupid. Last I checked, all that was necessary was a well-funded and organized campaign, and some demagoguery.

No, you didn't get it then. What I'm saying - not implying, but explicitly stating - is that even as much of a total loon as Perez Hilton is, it would be an insult to compare him to an even loonier flake like Palin. It doesn't have anything to do with how anyone "rates", or how important her job may be, and it doesn't even have to do with which one's a genius and which one's a fool. It's purely a question of which one is crazier than the other. When it comes to mental and emotional stability, Sarah Palin makes Perez Hilton look like Dr. Phil.

HatesParisHilton -> RE: America's favorite drama queen in the news again (6/24/2009 12:07:35 AM)

btw, when I sais "open her mouth" I meant "to speak", not "to swallow".

as in the moment she spoke cocks would shrivel and balls would recede into abdomens.

I'm an assfiend and "Buttpig".  I don't make fellatio or bukake jokes.  Those sexual practices are themselves "birth control" for me.

As is the idea of having to knock up one of the multitudinous chicks that supported Palin before turning on her.
