ORIGINAL: OrionTheWolf ~FR~ Is it an indication of anything that this topic has as many posts as the one about Iran, less than the one about N Korea or some of the economy issues? Is America addicted to drama? Actually Orion, I think that the fun of Sarah Palin is that we cannot take her seriously. Iran, N Korea is scary complicated shit. As an example, most of the time I prefer to watch programmes on channels like.......The History Channel, National Geographic, etc etc etc. I like learning more about the world. Last night there was a great programme on about Iran. But sometimes, I am tired, my brain just hasn't got the energy, I am emotionally drained and not at all in the mood for serious stuff. Moments like that I watch old episodes of Mash, or Friends or just anything that is funny or comforting in it's pointlessness. Stupid comedy movies do it for other people, romantic comedies for others. Making fun of Sarah Palin is my stupid comedy away from the worry of North Korea and Iran. One requires no thought, I could solve her problem quite easily....(insert gleeful evil laugh) The other two, there are no easy solutions for. They are complex and again, very scary. I don't have all the information, regardless of how much news I watch, read, whatever......to confidently say "Here is the solution." I doubt anyone really does. That's what makes it so depressing and frightening. Sarah Palin is neither frightening or depressing. Just mindlessly, stupidly, annoying and entertaining. Plus, watching all the armchair experts in threads about world events makes me want to order a truckload of sharp sticks. I am not THAT in love with M11.
