They WERE being all lovey since I'd been gone a few days.  Now they're back to status quo (Cashie snoozing on the sofa, Amos - well, as usual, she's off doing her own thing.  Damned if I know what that is, though///)

I didn't get to bed until 4:00 A.M. Of course, Misty had to wake me for her 6:30 A.M. feeding, which I expected, but she also came in there hourly to try to wake me up. She just wanted attention, because when I finally woke up she was all lovey-dovey and wanted lots of petting.

Now they are both begging for tidbits from my tuna sandwich.

Viktor woke me up a little before 7 for his feeding (I got to bed at 3AM) so I just got up and fed him, knowing he'd be incessant otherwise. After that he climbed into bed with us and snuggled in for a nap.

Now he's taken over the recliner while the Mister and I are on the couch. No he's not spoiled........

Angel is like Viktor in that respect. After her morning feeding, she'll snuggle up and go back to sleep with me. Misty, on the other hand, will continue to try to wake me up even after she's been fed if she's in the mood for attention.

He's turned into quite the snuggler/lap-cat. I love it, but he wasn't always like this. His behavior is a little different in the last few months. That, combined with the sneezes he had a few weeks ago, and that his eye was watery again yesterday, caused me to make a vet appointment for a check up next week. Hopefully all is well.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for Viktor.

I fed the kitties then sat down to my chicken dinner. They of course think it is far more interesting than their food and are over here begging tidbits.

Misty is on the "kitty non grata" list this morning. Her new tactic for waking me up to be fed is walking on my head. She did that when I was in a dead sleep, I jerked my head from being wakened suddenly, and she ended up scratching me right above the eye. She had better knock off with that crap.

My 5 (all rescues) are in various stages of relaxation and repose after terrorizing the dogs for the better part of an early morning.  Seems their work is done for the day and they are free to do as they wish ( upchuck a hair ball now and then, knock things off the desk & shelves, and their favorite pastime:  see how much damage they can do to the couch and door jam before I find the water bottle and give them a squirt!).  Don't know what I'd do without them.

They are : Pebbles (tortishell)  ..left in a lunchbox as a teeny kitten at a business
Layla (black torti).... feral kitten found near the beach
Spike (tuxedo) and BamBam (grey tabby)......2 of 3 orphaned brothers I rescued when mom was killed.  Tux ( Spike's identical twin) found a home with a friend.
Georgie ( black longhair w/ 1 eye) ....found 9 kittens at a lake, dumped off.  This guy had his eyeball puffed out of the socket and it looked like ground meat.  He went to visit Dr. Jan........got all his surgeries/shots/wormed  and now is here till I find him a home. (yea, right)

I wish I had found this thread sooner! Love reading about kitty antics !

Jasmine currently resembles a couch potato and is doing a fabulous job of squashing down the top of the cushion.

good for you for rescuing those furbabies.....I have 5 myself, KB I got from a co-worker's farm for my dog, but the other 4 are rescues, Boo and Smooch were garage sale kitties, (we took all 4, found homes for 2), I got Squeaks when the friend of a friend was thinning her herd of 8, and my own little one-eyed terror is Bitty, the last one of hte last litter Mama had at the first apartment I lived in. She was mostly feral, but she trusted me, and brought her kittens to me when they were old enough. Unfortunately, she is no longer with us, she got killed in an engine, the poor guy who owned the car was so broken up about it.

When I got Bitty, I had a home for him, but wanted to make sure he was litter trained and fully weaned, and he ended up getting an infection in his eye that cost him the eyeball. When I told the person who was going to take him what had happened, she said she didn't want a "damaged" kitten. You ahould see him now.....he terrorizes everyone, me included! He's grown into quite the handsome boy, looks like his daddy, talks like his mama. Other than the occasional misjudged jump due to lack of depth perception, this guy is everywhere! He thought nothing of jumping on his brothers even when he was no bigger than a minit......he is convinced he's the biggest lion on the Serengeti!

On an unrelated note, I get my kitty litter in a box, and have recycled it into a kitty heaven....I cut holes in the back and sides, and I hide their toys inside for them to chase. I made the holes a little too big, they can get them out, but today they were all chasing the stuff inside and it was a hoot to watch them steal the toys from each other. I'm not sure who is more easily amused....them or me! :)

With people, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. But with Misty, the food is always tastier on the other cat's plate. I can feed them the exact same thing, but Misty will go over and stand by Angel's dish, wait for her to finish, then start eating her food. Sometimes she doesn't even wait--she just sticks her nose in and starts eating.

Ha!!! Too funny!

Viktor's snuggling with me at the moment. We're going to the vet later this afternoon. I put his little carrying case out in the living room last week with the hopes of saving some drama of getting him in there today - so far so good! I've put some toys and kibbles in there periodically and he just waltzes on in. When I've closed the door he just looks out all sweet-like. So getting him to the appointment should be easy-breezy today, other than him crying non stop in the car on our way (his MO).

I've been concerned, so I'm nervous about the appointment.

Well he's fine...for the most part. Possibly something viral, but I had also switched air fresheners to Fabreeze and it leaves annoying residue, which is apparently irritating the heck out of Viktor's respiratory tract and paws (he's been licking his paw pads a LOT). So no more Fabreeze.

She doesn't think anything major is going on. It's possible he's having trouble breaking up a hairball, causing him a tummy ache (hence the occasional moaning), so I have some "Cat Lax" now.

No problem getting him into his carrying case, and he howwwwwwled the entire way to the vet, then curled up like a lump on the vet table, all nervous. As soon as I opened the carrying case back up he flew right into it as if to be really eager to go home - was cute.

So hopefully that's it - minor stuff. He's just sitting in the hallway staring at me now.

Yeah, he's really plotting his revenge......check your shoes before you put your feet in them.....payback is a bitch!

My guys have all seemed to have kicked the episode of respiratory infection for now, no sneezing, Bitty's eye cleared right up after the l-lysine and amoxicillin, Smoochie got dosed too, his eyes started watering mucus, so I wasn't taking any chances. KB has the hairball issue, he grooms everyone at bedtime. I've been giving them the Iams in the turquoise bag, hairball and weight control, and not only do they actually eat it, but it works. I try to comb them, but only one of them likes it...the rest of them squirm and roll around until I give up in frustration.

Ha! He's such a stinker. Yeah, he was not happy, alright...

He won't eat the Cat Lax. So I spread it on his leg and he's licking it off like crazy.

I'll close off the shoe closet tonight.

He does love being brushed, though, but we have to pause every so often so he can chew on and play with the brush handle.

Any pausing in the combing process is to chew on ME, not the comb.......I'm getting pretty fast at it!

Betty is stalking the dog. For whatever reason, the tub turns into party central around 11pm EVERY night.

OMG!!!!! How adorable!!!! Party in the tub, huh? I know Boo likes to take his pistachios in there and bat them around because the acoustics are great......which is NOT a good thing at 3am!
