Since I'm still in search of a car, I spent ;ast weekend at post in one of the sleeping rooms, leaving my kittehs alone for 2 nights. It's an 8 mile roundtrip to walk it, and I just didn't want to. I selpt like crap, because I felt guilty for leaving them alone, and there were no snuggling kitteh bodies next to me in bed. When I did come home, they were so mad at me that they ate their chicken and went to sleep...NOT with me. They didn't even speak to me! Apparently, I have been forgiven a bit, they will sleep on the bed with me, just not all snuggly, even KB. And I'm staying there again this weekend if my loan app doesn't get accepted....but it's just easier to stay when I'm doing a quick-turn...work 8 hours, leave and come back after 8 hours at home. Even once I get wheels, I'll stay at post.....why waste the gas?

Boo loves to have his tummy scratched, Squeaks will tolerate about 5 minutes of it, the other three are all "NNNNOOOOOOOOOOO TOUCH MY TUMMY!".

I had emergency eye surgery and am home on medical leave for 2 - 3 weeks. The kitties don't know quite what to make of it. They'll give me a quizzical look from time to time as if to say, "What are you doing here?"

The kitties are helping me comply with my doctor's orders to sleep on my left side to help my eye heal. Angel snuggles in against my chest and puts her head on my shoulder. Misty gets up on my outer thigh. They get me pinned in so that I sleep in the position I'm supposed to all night long.

The kitties thought that tonight's dinner was one of the best in a long time. Broccoli cheese soup is one of Misty's favorites. She got several tastes and was allowed to lick the bowl. They both loved the tidbits they received from my tuna sandwich.

Right now we are in the waiting room at the animal hospital ER. Viktor is sick and I don't know what's wrong. Please send good thoughts if you're so inclined...he's my baby.

Thank you, MysticFireTopaz. 5 hours at the emergency vet, due to excessive diarrhea, vomiting and cries in pain.

They did a bladder probe, x-rays and blood tests and all came back normal, which is good, but we still don't know what's wrong. Sent home with antibiotics (only took 6 attempts to get the first pill down) and he's still wandering around crying. If the antibiotics don't help him feel better in a couple of days, it's back to the radiologist for an ultrasound.

I just hate to see him so distressed.

My thoughts are with Viktor, NV. I hate it when kitties go through pain.

Thank you both, means a lot. He's doing much better today - no more crying. He snuggled up close all night and right now he's basking at the patio door soaking in the sun. I have no idea what was up with him yesterday (he had a fever, too), but whatever it was seems to be working its way out of him. Whew.

Thank you! He's been exhausted and lazy all day, and staying close since I took the day off to keep an eye on him and love on him. Not 100% but definitely on the mend. Almost medicine time, so in a few minutes he'll be fighting me off lol.

There's a cute little gecko on the outside window ledge sunning itself nonchalantly. Meanwhile, Angel is on the inside of the window going crazy because she can't get at it.

Misty had her first, and probably last, taste of Greek yogurt today. She begged for some while I was eating it. I put a dollop on my finger to see if she'd like it. She licked it off, made a curious expression like, "WTF was that?" and walked off, LOL.

He's curled up next to me, peacefully sleeping and blissfully unaware that in a couple of hours I'll be shoving another pill down his throat (I hate that!).

But....doing remarkably better now - back to his normal self - yay!
