ORIGINAL: mnottertail one can only claim hijacking if it is a conservative started liberal bashing thread, Arpig. See Sanity and FirmHand for the rules.......... Liberals are running scared now (same as last time), Ron Typical from you Ron. The question of participation, and the number of people who attended was first addressed by DomKen in Post 19, then 24. Then Lucy makes a belittling comment in post 25 (OK, call it "sarcastic") about the lack of protestors (maybe they all got confused between Washington DC and Washington State?) Then rikigrl makes the comment in post 30 that only "be considered a significant number of protesters by fauxnews." Then the very OP of the thread, Spinner, comes to the discussion of the importance of the size of the protest: Why would the democrats not see this as a small demonstration. It was a small demonstration. Compared to the crowds gathered by issues like reproductive rights, the war in Iraq, gay rights, black rights this was a ripple in the pond. Without addressing the right or wrong of their position, why would the democrats view this demonstration as overly important? This is all in the first two pages. My first post was near the top of page four, and addressed these issues of both size and importance. I provided facts, analysis, figures ... and what do I get? "Oh, the actual numbers aren't really relevant ... we think it's insignificant because we don't care about it ..." First members of the left argue for two pages that it was an insignificant gathering because it was small - hardly anybody really showed up, especially compared to those causes that are really important. And yet, then, when there is good evidence that they are way off base in the size of the crowds, and therefore the significance of the protest .... the numbers don't really matter? Horseshit and deflection. Firm
