I must have missed your posts pointing out the flaws and incivility of posters who agree with you then, Boi. Or shall I note that among all posters on this board, I have the honor of being the worst and therefore worthy of comments that have nothing to do with the subject at hand but are merely personal attacks on my style of discussion?

Either way, I feel no need to protest or complain over them. I support your right, as I do everyone's right, to say what they feel is productive to the conversation and/or of interest to the rest of the readers.

That said, let me state that I will no longer respond to such personal matters on the public boards. I consider it an inappropriate use of thread to bring things down to a purely personal level. If anyone has a problem with what I write or how I write it to the point where they feel comment is called for, I will be glad to respond to private letters.

Then please allow me to step in and point out that partisanship you seem so confused about.

Yes...since those kids had to travel to get to the White House, I would imagine they needed parental consent.  In giving that parental consent to the trip, I am fairly sure that the parents were made aware of what sort of song their kids would be singing for Bush.  The parents of the kids in the New Jersey school had no idea that their kids would be singing a song praising Obama AND HIS POLICIES.

Yes, schools require legal parental consent to take their students on field trips.

Schools do not have to have legal parental consent for each and every lesson plan or activity that occurs in the school.

quote:

And note that the song did not just praise Bush but praised FEMA (made up of democrats as well as republicans), Congress (made up of democrats as well as republicans) and people across the land (democrats as well as republicans, lefties as well as righties).  Anybody else notice any praise for anyone BUT Obama in the songs the kids at the New Jersey school were taught?
And note that the song the kids sang to Bush...one song by the way, not 2 or 3...was done to the tune of "Hey, Look Me Over", not "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and certainly not "Jesus Loves the Little Children".  Also note that there was no indication that there was any chanting of "George BUSH" in a vein similar to "Barack Hussein OBAMA".

This one isn't even worth responding to if you can't see how ridiculous your efforts at splitting hairs have become.
Funny how hair-splitting only seems to apply when folks on the left are stuck defending themselves or their policies.  But...tis not hair-splitting to point out important differences.  ~shrugs~  to you, anything that remotely shows that someone with views you approve of could have been wrong in something they did for Obama is hair-splitting and your attempts to ridicule rather than answer are easily discerned.

Funny how the same folks on the right bemoan endlessly being tarred with a single brush while doing the very same thing. For example, while far from claiming to be on the right, I do see a difference between songs taught in the classroom and songs learned for a performance for the president at the white house. The former is a place where kids go to get information and education. The latter is performance for a particular audience and so is tailored to that audience. I do not think a crowd of schoolchildren singing "The country still is looking for those pesky WMD, they're still waiting for some help where water swirls around their knees and don't fuck up the economy, we're begging pretty please, George Bush goes marching on".

I have always thought that the song was a mistake and that the teacher should be told not to infuse approval of policy with her lesson plans. I also think such an admonition would pretty well handle the matter.

So does that make me a right winger? Do I get my secret decoder ring now?

What happens in c-mail is private and should stay there. I cant speak for the rest, but i dont care about the exchange you two had, or your personal problems. Dont use the forums to air private issues. Its beneath tacky.

Leiren -> RE: Indoctrination centers (9/29/2009 3:45:13 PM)

FR to tazzygirl,

I didn't copy and paste the c-mails so kindly keep your opinions to yourself. Maybe you and Spinner should hook up with each other since both of you speak the same kind of language and consistently heckle anyone who doesn't agree with the two of you.

tazzygirl -> RE: Indoctrination centers (9/29/2009 3:47:25 PM)

Perhaps you should read profiles. I am in a relationship. And i will say again.. what is private should stay private. An argument in cmail shouldnt spill over to the boards. Its called drama... lol... and we create enough of it on these boards openly without the "he said, she said" bs.

Just playing devil's advocate here, as you claim to like to do. If these forums are not meant to be used to ask questions about personal problems, or private issues, then why is there an 'Ask a Master', an 'Ask a Mistress', 'Ask a submissive/slave section, etc.?

I've had a major life change in the last two weeks. I kept that to myself. I did NOT post on any of the above mentioned sections of the forum. I made my own decision and did not need anyone to tell me what I needed to do to get out of a bad situation.

But YOUR reply indicates that no one should use any of the above mentioned forums for advice. Judgemental much?

Hey tazzy -

rushlimbaugh.com is reporting that a new Obamakids indoctrination video has surfaced. This one is from North Carolina!

Isn't that fascinating news? [;)]

I have no interest in your profile. You told ME that I should not use these various forums to express my own opinions and my own life changes.

Again, you and Spinner would make a perfect couple since you're both equally as opinionated and judgmental without justification for your nasty attitudes.

tazzygirl -> RE: Indoctrination centers (9/29/2009 3:55:36 PM)

Hardly. If he comes back and says... wtf are you talking about? I havent contacted you at all? ... then what? will you, to prove your "right" feel moved to post the private mails between you two?

I get into arguments all the time in cmail. no one on the boards know. I dont see the purpose of your post except to whine and get others to say how right you are and "poor you".

RUSH: Another scripted song poem in praise of our Dear Supreme Leader, Barack Hussein Obama. Again that's from September 2009, Asheville, North Carolina, Sand Hill Venable Elementary School PTO meeting. Here are New Jersey's kids singing the praises of The One in June in Burlington, New Jersey.

I lived in NJ, went to school there.. a little warm in June for sweat shirts and jackets, wouldnt you say?

As far as the video, i see it as children saying they can make a difference... not praising Obama.

Listen up, and listen closely. You're just as deliberately obtuse as Spinner is. I can't imagine who you're in a relationship with now, but Spinner seems your ideal mate to me since both of you constantly heckle other posters and then try to justify your heckling.

Time to put you on ignore since I've made a new life in the last two weeks and I don't need your constant BS anymore than I need SpinnerofTales sending me c-mails insulting me.

Neither of you seem to know when to back off and allow someone else some breathing room to voice their own opinions. Both of you seem intent on strong-arming and coercing other users through insults.

And I'm bored to death with both of you.

We can go around again with the same things as the first song. Personally, I feel the same way about this one as I did about the last one: I don't much like a teacher singing the praises of a sitting president. However, I don't see it as a systemic indoctrination. I see it as blurring the line between teaching current events and putting forth political opinion.

Personally, I would like to see this nipped in the bud. The very idea of having kids sing this kind of song about anyone the republicans are likely to run and elect gives me the willies. It's also a slippery slope. Just where will it stop? Songs about senators, congressmen, city council members, school board members? It's time for a good, firm "let's keep politics on either side out of our schools" memo from school boards followed up with a watchful eye to see that they carry it out.

tazzygirl -> RE: Indoctrination centers (9/29/2009 4:27:29 PM)

Im confused here Spinner. They mention Obama once, related to his message of hope and him being both black and white.

How is that indoctrination? Isnt that what we want our children to believe?
