MsLeslieBabydoll -> Should Male Transvestites Be Allowed To Disguise Their Birth Sex? (9/28/2009 9:45:54 AM)

As a researcher and demographer, I had hoped to be able to conduct a study of the users at Collar Me, to determine how many people, of each gender and sexual preference, have been on the site in the last ninety days, and then to repeat that study three more times in a calendar year.  This would have allowed me to gain a better understanding into how many, of each category of users, i.e. females, males, transgendered, Dominant females, Dominant males,  etc. participated at Collar Me in a single calendar year.  Such a study would allow me to compare the statistics that I acquired from my study, against the user statistics for other BDSM websites, to see how popular Collar Me is within the BDSM community as a whole.  Unfortunately for myself, I learned that it was not possible to get accurate numbers, because more than 30% of the users, who list their birth sex as female, are actually male transvestites.

My poll question today is a simple one.  It will help me to see a couple of things in the result.  The result will tell me the percentage of poll respondents who feel that disguising one's birth sex is a permitted social act, and the percentage who do not believe that disguising one's birth sex should be permitted as a social act, when placing a BDSM lifestyle personals ad on Collar Me.  The poll will run through this Friday, October 2, 2009.  Thank you for your participation!

You dont get a choice on the poll...it might skew your results to the point of being totally useless
edited to add, oops maybe its showing more than one choice now, disregard if thats the case
I do not  appreciate being used for unscientific research by someone who has already proved their own personal bias in other threads, very scientific, NOT.

For someone who calls themselves a "researcher",  the poll and the following post gives me the impression that the OP is seeking affirmation of what the OP already believes to be true.

The option I would choose is not listed.

I believe that if someone has underwent and  completed gender reassignment, then they have EVERY right to identify themself as thier selected gender.  If they cross dress, or have not completed gender reassignment, then they should identify as thier birth gender.  Just my opinion, no flames please.

There are two choices listed on the poll; do you believe it is okay to disguise your birth sex, and do you feel it is not okay to disguise your birth sex.  I have both choices listed on my screen.

I believe that the poll is well defined, and deals with a single demographic within the total number of users at Collar Me.  If someone has completed Gender Reassignment Surgery, then obviously, they are not a male transvestite.

Well, you're lumping transvestites and transgendered people into one category.

MsLeslieBabydoll -> RE: Should Male Transvestites Be Allowed To Disguise Their Birth Sex? (9/28/2009 9:59:34 AM)

Actually I am trying to learn if the poll respondents are ok, or not ok, with disguising their birth sex, as a group.  The poll itself is not offending anyone, nor is it an offensive poll question.  I have always loved the results from studies on college students trying to find out how many believe it is no problem, and how many see it as a problem, to have someone else do your thesis papers.

Actually the poll is not about transgendered people as a group; it is about a sub-section of the demographic of trangendered people, of which male transvestite is one such sub group.  As an example, pre-op FTM transsexuals are another sub-section.  Those are two sub-sections that I can easily bring to mind.  The poll question is not about the entire transgendered demographic.

youre biased.

I agree with pure.

reset the poll to offer choices that reflect unbiased reality, then (as a so-called researcher) you'll get more accurate responses.

at what point is the individual no longer a transvestite if they're undergoing transgender, in your opinion?

Nycteris -> RE: Should Male Transvestites Be Allowed To Disguise Their Birth Sex? (9/28/2009 10:05:28 AM)

Ms Leslie,

I am familiar with the phenomenon you're inquiring about.  I've seen many hairy crossdressers dressed in maids outfits who then list themselves as "female" on their CM profile.  It's ridiculous for people to do that..  What I am saying that the poll answers listed won't lead you to any useful conclusion, as these "trans" people have far difference motivations for making the same claim.

My opinion as to when that occurs is irrelevant to the poll that I created.  And why does it matter?  geez... I think that the answer that you give to that question will be one that you totally agree with, and, after all, isn't that what really matters?

Wolf2Bear -> RE: Should Male Transvestites Be Allowed To Disguise Their Birth Sex? (9/28/2009 10:06:50 AM)

I need further clarification before actually casting a vote. I need to know what what you define as a transvestite. Seems to me that in order to accurately do a survey, the participants should have a base definition to work from instead of basing our vote on a definition which is non-specified.

GreedyTop -> RE: Should Male Transvestites Be Allowed To Disguise Their Birth Sex? (9/28/2009 10:07:58 AM)

how dare you  make sense, Bear!!!!!!  C'mere..lemme beat ya ;)

MsLeslieBabydoll -> RE: Should Male Transvestites Be Allowed To Disguise Their Birth Sex? (9/28/2009 10:09:20 AM)

Bias about what?  I am not flaming you, I am curious; to say that someone is biased is a pretty broad generalization about any person.  I guess if I am biased about anything, the only thing that I can possibly think of is that I think that Dennis Leary is a fine actor.  Beyond that, I just don't have any opinions or determinations about what I like or don't like at this particular moment.

Bear, the world will not stop revolving because you can't figure it out.  I guess you need to find a poll that you want to answer.  Good luck in finding that poll for you!

Nycteris -> RE: Should Male Transvestites Be Allowed To Disguise Their Birth Sex? (9/28/2009 10:12:00 AM)

Ms Leslie,  I'd suggest learning what the difference between a CD, TG, and a TV is.  Your poll question doesn't address those differences.

MsLeslieBabydoll -> RE: Should Male Transvestites Be Allowed To Disguise Their Birth Sex? (9/28/2009 10:15:10 AM)

A TV is a transvestite, and so is a CD.  A TG person can be a transsexual or transvestite.  I think that is a great answer to your assumption that I did not know the difference.

GreedyTop -> RE: Should Male Transvestites Be Allowed To Disguise Their Birth Sex? (9/28/2009 10:19:29 AM)
