I have to agree on this point. Rush is not delusional. He's as good at his act as a pro wrestler on the mike and knows exactly what he's doing.  As for virulent, it's not his fault that some are gullible enough to mistake his trash for truth.

I actually have to agree on this one. It is almost always far less harmful to let an organization spout bullshit than give the government the authority to decide what is and isn't bullshit. Add the power to actually do something about it and you have a dangerous situation indeed.

Free speech is our most basic freedom. That means even people like Larry Flint and Fox News are protected by it.

They have a right to prove that what is said are lies and bias.  But to target an organization?  To marginalize it? (straight out of one of Obama's mentors' books) To make an enemy of it?  That harkens back to Nixon's enemies list and no, I don't think the White House has a right to target things that way.  When they do, they are doing so in behalf of the citizens of this country and there are many...including me...that believes government has NO business interfering in private industry unless it is breaking the law.
