Vendaval -> AMA & AARP endorse House health care bills (11/6/2009 4:59:23 AM)

Both the American Medical Association, which represents physicians, and AARP, the American Association of Retired Persons are backing the health care reform bills in the U.S. House of Representatives.

It doesn't matter what is in "this" bill.  It is another unconstitutional takeover nightmare socialist, marxist, globalist takeover item to further weaken and destroy this nation plain & simple.  The American Medical Association does not represent a "majority" of the Dr's in this country, just like AARP doesn't represent a "majority" of retired people, and AARP (former) members are cutting up and mailing back their membership cards in droves.  Educate yourself.  http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=G44NCvNDLfc

welcome to the forums. I hope you have a thick skin. Liberals outnumber conservatives here by about30 to 1..mike

ostrichman1951 -> RE: AMA & AARP endorse House health care bills (11/6/2009 7:48:20 AM)

"Who" outnumbers "who" here shouldn't override "common sense" (which unfortunately is NOT "common" anymore).  Show me "real" health care reform first mike ... 1. no illegal aliens allowed treatment in ER's unless life/death emergency, and no access to ANY social services or govt jobs unless you are a legal citizen period.  2. tort reform; cap all medical malpractice award. 3. eliminate all waste, fraud, graft in current medicare/medicade programs.  This should free up enough $$ to provide for those legal citizens who have no health care.

I wont vote for something I have not read.   Why would anyone.   No I have not read this bill.  They are going to cram it thru regardless of what I think.   Regardless of what many of us think.

I can't think of any good legislation in the past 30 years.  Why do why need more laws?   We don't.

So first, the problem is the majority isn't the majority, then next, "common sense" should override the majority?

I don't think many disagree with your points 2 & 3, beyond the perfectionist fantasy in point 3. Point 1 lumps together three different issues--the last two aren't so controversial; the first ignores the economic impact of the self-righteous position, even if ethically justified.

The trouble with much proclaimed as "common sense" ignores that the real world is more complicated than simple sound bites.

According to the AP they're still working out the details. No one has seen the final version yet.

Business as usual Sanity when one considers there isn't a "final version" yet....and there won't be anything "final" till a vote is passed and it is sent to the W.H.

Ostrichman that no -illegal aliens thing should be easy to work out....start with issuing papers....and than back up every E.R. room in the country .Triage can take a back seat to determining citizenship and whether or not a situation qualifies as "life or death"
American compassion is such a beautiful thing.

Vendaval -> RE: AMA & AARP endorse House health care bills (11/6/2009 2:02:42 PM)

The first questions you need to ask here concerning illegal aliens are -

Who benefits from hiring illegal aliens?
Who benefits from having our Emergency Rooms being used by people who have no health insurance, regardless of citizenship?

So...............let's clarify here.

"It doesn't matter what is in "this" bill."

But you know that "It is another unconstitutional takeover nightmare socialist, marxist, globalist takeover item to further weaken and destroy this nation plain & simple."

So let's summarize.

You do not know what is in the bill because it doesn't matter what is in the bill.

You just know it is unconstitutional and a socialist, marxist nightmare.

slvemike4u -> RE: AMA & AARP endorse House health care bills (11/6/2009 2:29:58 PM)

It' all about the progeny Rule.....all one really needs to know is which side is pushing a thing to decide whether or not its.....another unconstitutional takeover nightmare socialist, marxist, globalist takeover item to further weaken and destroy this nation plain & simple."
....

hunkboy,

How you can you have an informed opinion if you refuse to read the bill?

slvemike4u -> RE: AMA & AARP endorse House health care bills (11/6/2009 2:48:47 PM)

Is that one of them rhertorical questions Ven?

Most ER's are already refusing to treat people without insurance unless it is a "real" emergency, legal or not.

Tort reform has already been shown to not offer enough of a savings to fix what is ailing the problem. Check with the CBO for those numbers.

No problem with #3, except that who is going to do this? Already the insurance companies are spening billions to prevent the passage of any true reform. Of course, they dont want their noses cut.

Your solutions may have worked 10 years ago. Its not enough now.

Call this legislation the "Buy a $15,000.00 policy or go to jail" bill.

They're from the government, and they're there to help...
