~FR~

"Mommy can I have that candy?" a child says to a Mother.

Stone them both for forcing their dynamic on me in public, without my consent.

Its really sad how ridiculous this thread got. i think its a good topic.

Glad to see someone got my point.

If we want to continue to be seen as freaks and weirdos by the general public, then we should act like total asses, drawing attention to ourselves in inapproptiate ways.

Every relationship, romantic or otherwise, is a power dynamic. Mine just happens to be a little more extreme than most.

And that's the key word, isn't it... "extreme"?  And as such, I don't feel it right to impose that dynamic on those who have not consented.

tazzygirl -> RE: Involving others in your kink vs. Not feeling the need to hide it (11/28/2009 11:46:42 AM)

The argument being made, though, is that at one time, interracial couples were considered obscene in public. Gay couples holding hands were considered obscene. I draw the lines at inappropriate displays of affection, and i dont mean hand holding or kissing, in public. The same way i would tell a vanilla couple if they could be seen by children, i would tell a D/s, BDSM, M/s couple... have some decency about yourself and get a room.

I guess I just don't understand why you think it only applies to power dynamics...

I don't... that's an assumption on your part.  If you and your squeeze wanted to dress as Circus Clowns every day and insisted on honking a horn instead of speaking to others outside your Circus Clown dynamic, I'd find that just as rude.

Again... you and yours are imposing YOUR personal power dynamic on those who have not consented to be included in it. Further, as evidenced by your "I absolutely have the right, and exercise it often..." comment/tantrum, your motivation in doing so "often" shows your insecure need for others outside your dynamic to view you in some delusional grand light;  which in reality, only shows how insecure and childish you really are. It's rude, imposing, disrespectful, childish, self-serving, crass, and pathetically insecure.  It serves NOTHING to have one's sub/slave publicly inform a 'nilla outside their dynamic, "I must check with my MASTER first", when a simple, "Let me get back to you" will do.  Thus, this is little more than your insecure self-serving, flaccid ego at play.

And I see everything "wrong with it".  We keep our "personal life"... personal; and have ZERO interest in viewing others play their personal lives out in public.

We all *have the right* to exercise our personal freedoms........and we all do it often.

It's..."rude, imposing, disrespectful, childish, self-serving, crass and pathetically insecure"...IN YOUR OPINION.

You're not *direct* as you like to proclaim ....... you are actually far closer to being rude and bigotted.

You're saying it's okay for me to say "my fiance" to describe my fiance... but it's not okay for a slave to say "my master" to describe her master - so...you're making a point against yourself here.

No... I'm not, and you know this, as I've repeatedly stated in this thread that NEITHER is necessary.  Moreover, I've also stated the difference between "fiance" and "Master" as it applies to the generally accepted standards of most communities; with the latter being outside said standard.  Go back and re-read this thread if need be.  If you honestly think those in 'nillaville USA would see NO DIFFERENCE between referring to their significant other as "fiance" or "Master" to their neighbors, and cummunity, then you're fooling yourself, at best.

No-one has tried to convince you to do that. No-one has said that your view is *crass, silly, rude, disrespectful, childish, offensive and so on and so forth*...Many people have said the same thing over and over which is ..... *That's fine for you.....but not how I either view it , or do it*.

(Edited to clarify, I don't mean you personally, agirl)

No-one has tried to convince you to do that.

Nor have I stated anyone has.  I've stated I find those that do are imposing their personal life on others.

Hierodule -> RE: Involving others in your kink vs. Not feeling the need to hide it (11/28/2009 12:28:14 PM)

A person dressed as a clown as well as a girl on a leash can be polite, respectful and appropriate when communicating with strangers in public. To me "looking different" does not equal rude.

Sure,  honking a horn in someone's face and expecting them it understand you is rude. but dressing like a clown doesn't hurt anyone or  impose on anyone's sence of decency. Neither does wearing a leash. Its just a different shaped necklace. The same way that "Master" is just another word for lover. I don't think you understand that I am not advocating anything "in your face" or shocking or even R rated here. Just because they are dressed in leather with a dog collar on doesn't mean they are being rude acting like  an asshole or seeking attention.

You know who else imposes their lifestyle on others without their consent? The Amish. Fuck those buggy driving bastards. I didn't consent to being exposed to their technology shunning lifestyle!!! They should be forced to dress like everyone else and drive cars!

I'd have to disagree with you.

I guess I don't understand why you are so committed to defending the view point of sheltered/closed-minded/judgmental people. Not merely defending it, but celebrating it as proper and right. And I don't know what you imagine "nillaville, USA" looking like. Is it all around you in LA?

Hierodule -> RE: Involving others in your kink vs. Not feeling the need to hide it (11/28/2009 12:34:42 PM)

Really? So I could behave exactly as any other well bred polite young lady in public but if I had a leash on I would automatically fail at polite communication? Could you elaborate? What if the person I was communicating with was blind and didn't know I was wearing a leash? Would that automatically make my behavior polite again?
