Yesterday I was working with Granny when one of my rings fell off the finger. I've lost enough weight now for my rings to start getting loose!! [:D] Most of the time, I have a hard time believing that I've lost as much weight as I have since my clothes seem to still fit ok. But I bought a bra after I discovered that my weight was over 280 & it's now extremely large on me. And I know that my clothes were pretty tight before. The sad thing is that I bought an interview suit for the old body & by the time I got an interview, I had to pin the pants in the back to keep them from falling off. Not an extremely expensive suit, but now it does feel like a waste of money, since I won't be able to wear it again. Better that it got too big to wear than it got too small, though!!

I know how that feels...yet I hit the clearance ranks when I go shopping. someone get me a baseball bat...if those scales at Curves say that I have not lost any weight, I will give it a piece of my 'mind'.

Linea, try consignment shops. You won't get all of your money back but you may get some. Or ebay or even craigslist. There are many ways to make money off of gently used clothes. Also for transitional clothes, you can try goodwill stores or consignment shops also. Many times you can find brand new clothes for very little money even with the tags still on them. angel

additionally, you can have rings downsized, unless they are costume which wouldnt be worth it. if you list your clothes you can get a signed affadavit if you give them to a church or goodwill or salvation army and so on and get a really decent tax right off. Otherwise, get out the seamripper and sewing machine, and make alterations.

Thanks for all the good advice re: clothing. Right now I mostly wear scrubs every day, so it's not critical to have any new smaller clothes. And I truly, no kidding, have no money. Not just low on dough. None. Nada. Zilch. I'm definitely going to look into selling the suit, however. Everything else I have is old & has been worn nearly to death. Since I bought pants with elastic in them, I can wear them for longer as I get smaller. I'm still having trouble realizing that I am smaller. I know that I must be because the scale says I weigh 40 lbs less.

I have refused to weigh myself and get depressed. But I did try on a pair of pants that were tight a few weeks ago. And they are loose!!!!
