ORIGINAL: barelynangel Don't just rely on the numbers but measure yourself, look at your body is it shifting etc etc. If it has stayed exactly the same etc over the 4 months, have you eaten the same thing pretty much for 4 months, exercised the same etc. Sometimes a seeming plateau could be something as simple as you added a food to your diet your body is retaining water with. If you just started to work out, try doing intervals in your cardio rather than straight walking or running. Start slow, 5 minute warm up, then 30 seconds at a higher speed that makes your heart rate sore, bring it back down for 2 minutes and do it again -- keep this up it not only burns a crap load more calories but your body doesn't get used to and immune so to speak. Take a week and add more FAT -- GOOD fat to your diet, drizzle on some olive oil, add some avacado to your intake, grab some nuts. Also another good idea if you have plateaued is change up your diet completely and eat different foods and seriously get away from processed foods. Thanks, Yes I did just start working out at the gym, and my diet has been pretty consistent, but very filling. I eat allot of veggies, seafood, and red meat and fat is not a problem, I'm a Chef, I cook with butter, cream, wine and olive oil. I have not measured myself in a long time, so I am probably building muscle and therefore not seeing an amazing drop in weight. As far as routine, My cardio is maintaining a steady heart rate of 145 for the full 5 miles, I am burning about 1000 calories at a time, and there are days I do not take in much more than that. There are also days, maybe one a month were I'll eat an entire 14" supreme pizza and a 2 liter of coke by myself
