I'd like to second the recommendation to read Susan Faludi's Backlash: The War Against American Women. It's a great book.

The Summit Meeting In Copenhagen. At 520am, the topic shifts to domiguy. Pies fly from assorted corners. Pies flying around. I think if you took any one person at this majestic point in time and put them up for review, each and every one of us would come back with tar marks. Some people trigger the living bejeezus out of another, and some times what one may say may hit a nerve. The bigger the trigger, the bigger the nerve, the closer to home for the one being triggered. An inner message for the one feeling so strongly in disfavor of something or another. There is no problem in disliking, even gasp, hating something or another, how it gets acted out, dealt with is more the ticket. In regard to domiguy, I like him. I find him articulate, quick thinking and very funny. I have seen his process on here, he lets his real self through. He makes remarks that I find all sorts of things, but all in all, it is more boring around here without him. He does add to the mix. each one of us can be completely annoying or annoyed by another. I like the mixture of people with their own points of view and stuff, it is cool to have that. This is a kink site for folks to fly their freak flags. Nothing wrong with cutting it with lots of slack. It is cyber writing on a page, if you vehemently cant stand the guy, a kinder option to those of us who enjoy his diversity, is to hide him so you dont have to see him rather than trying to get rid of him. I mean, vent, go for it. I am glad domiguy is back. I dont think he is harmful in a way that we need to worry about. You dont need to date him, meet him or anything. Live and let live. Again, vent, g'hed.

I do however have issues with bigotry, misogyny and hate. I don't expect him to redeem himself at all. In fact, I suspect that he'll come in an piss over all of us in his usual way. I have a stronger backbone than that. He has however been a bully in a space where Dominant women and those who befriend them, date them, etc should be able to discuss issues that concern them. As I mentioned to another one of his friends who PMed me to defend him, I was going to start a thread yesterday and then decided not to, as I'm in no mood to have him derail it. Make note, I'm in no way, shape or form scared, intimidated or hurt by him. I've dealt with bigger asses than him in my day and in my personal life, deal with much, much, much more powerful difficult personalites and hold my own quite well. I am just especially annoyed with him. Even if I use the ignore button, that will not stop him from derailing a thread nor will it stop other from quoting him. Blocking him is a band-aid solution, and one of those cheap band-aids that fall off the minute there is a little friction. No seriously, I've been participating on these message boards for a long time, intermittently. I actually care about this space. It helped me worked through some stuff a few years back and has to potential to help me and many others now. But not with a saboteur present. That will do more harm than good. That might mean that I'll go to another forum, that might mean that I'll keep to myself. Who knows. I haven't decided yet. The fact of the matter, is I don't come here to fight with people. I come here to debate and discuss. This can turn into a heated argument now and then, but is kind of pointless when someone just comes here to create disharmony. I really won't address this issue anymore so it is pointless to ask me questions, here or in PM. You can all make excuses for his bad behaviour. I have enough of a foundation in human pscyhology to understand what is truly going on here. You might want to start reflecting on what motivates a person like that to. In a perfect world, there would be more of a sisterhood mentality, where women would cease being/doing to other women what we would not like done to ourselves. I am of the belief that women who are self sufficient, self aware, and confident will tend to be supportive of, and respectful of other women, and pro female agenda. In general, and in my experience, I unfortunately notice that women fight far more often with one another, and are far more protective of men and the male agenda. In a perfect world, none of us would feel the need to separate, and feel alienated, whether because of our sex, experience, etc... M

I have been out here for awhile and on other sites and I have to say that be far the most "affected" group of people on these here sites tend to be the dommes. Yeah, you get the pompous and arrogant domshits that have to be dealt from time to time but on "the hole" dommes really tend to take the cake when it comes to over dramatizing their "role" in all of this here bdsm community, dress in black leather and boots, wear a silly little motorcycle hat nonsense. You want sisterhood? Why are you dommes even here? where is your commonground? How many woman have turned to the Wonderful Sally Struthers School of Dominatrix..To help make ends meet? Plenty. You know that there are a pile of women out here that don't have a dominant bone in their body but have plenty of poor lil' male subbies cash in their purse. What about the male haters or the women that if they didn't take on the domme persona wouldn't be able to gain a male's attention if they ran naked down main street? I realize that the same could be said for many men who explore the Dom path as well. I am confident many men do so out of a hate or a horrible insecurity the have towards women. But overall, I think men handle themselves better when following this path. perhaps it's because the dommes feel that they have something to prove so they overcompensate by being extra cunty or buying a corvette. ...not a corvette, that is for the overcompensating Dom...What is the car that would exude cuntiness with a touch of complete bitch? A gremlin? Anywhooooo, It seems that the most angry and hateful people on these here forums tend to be the dommes. I think it has less to do with being a domme and much more to do with about being internally angry and unfullfilled. Sisterhood, you ask? This is the wrong group of woman to ask that question. I love women. I love to be in the company of people that are overall happy, that are trying to do the best that they can, that don't make more out of the world that surrounds them than is actually there. On the topic of the Sisterhood. I have been a card carrying memeber for a long time and would love if all my fellow chicks would get on board too. I wouldnt mess with a man who has someone. I have been duped by a married man once, stupid fuck. I would not knowingly be with a man who has someone and wants that to be secret. I am not a poly girl so would still not be interested. I am a big believer in the Sisterhood myself. I love women and for the most part trust them and believe in them. Most of the time women are stronger than men. They face shit. We. Are. Well, in order to keep the thread on topic, I say we form a sisterhood of those who wish domiguy would get a permanent ban from CM. Alas, hiding his posts doesn't help, as others often wind up quoting him. Sort of like stepping in dog poo in a dark alley: you can try to avoid it, but eventually you're going to get caught by surprise, and then the stink stays with you.

I must admit... I use domi! Yes... he is inflamitory... yes he is outragous... and god damned funny if you take him the way I do. I cannot be insulted by anything that domi says because I am too busy laughing my ass off. I don't take what he says seriously unless he is actually being sensitive, thoughtful and hitting a nail on a head. There is truth in most everything domi says. Maybe his truth... maybe an alternative truth... but it is as he views it and if he can get a laugh out of it too... all the better. Does he make me want to get pissed off? Well... I do admit there have been times that he has and I even called him on being too extreme with someone. But I say... that's domi and move on! Would I have him as a submissive... oh fuck no! lol But as a fellow poster... oh yes... yes.. yes because no one makes me laugh so friggin hard! I am not easily offended and I am not easily insulted or sensitive and I laugh at me all the time... so why not domi? I don't want to be so serious even in serious topic's that I can't take a useful moment to use domi... for a lot of laughs. I can see how other's feel... and do understand... but for me... the dude simply cracks me up... I don't have to agree with him.

Thank you, Red, for your insightful response. As I said, it is impossible not to read the posts of these unpleasant people because they get quoted by others, therefore one is exposed to their drivel whether one wants to be or not. Some people one can overlook, and some of them one can actually respond to and have a bit of fun with, even if their posts are not the most genteel. Some of them, in fact, have even become distinctly less trollish as time has gone on. Some, however, seem to exist for one reason only, and that is to be as obnoxious as possible to as many people as possible, and they have been like this for years on end. In other words, these people have been banned for an extended period of time; their suspension is up and the first thing they do is come back to CM spewing the same old bile. So, either these people are stupid, or they are deliberately trolling. It wouldn't even be so bad if they had the redeeming feature of being amusing instead of terminally tedious. I don't have the power to make CM a more civil community. Only the mods do. Therefore, what's wrong with asking them to do the job for which they've volunteered? Or do we just accept that CM has become a free-for-all? If that's the case, I can see some people saying to themselves that CM is no longer a place they wish to spend much time. I certainly count myself in the latter category.

Then search a couple what grease does mistress use on her strapon threads, or does mistress prepare by pissing allover herself before she queens her slave threads. Compare the counts. There are people you have met in life you seriously dislike and avoid, I have a couple ex-wives that way, turns out I ain't no day at the fuckin' beach, now who woulda thunk that shit? I have to deal with them. I strain my nuts not to have to take anything to heart. Oh well. Nowhere, other than Caspar the Friendly Ghost cartoons does it mean anything. But Ven, for some of us, all of this genteel drivel is boring beyond tears. I get that not everyone has the same sense of humour I have, I get that many people prefer to ponder endlessly on whatever (boring to me) topics the genteel people prefer to drone endlessly on about. The happy happy joy joy for me is that I really can choose to just NOT READ what would otherwise, bore me to tears. You see, I would MUCH rather be offended than bored by a person. Boring is to me, the worst possible human trait I can think of. I already know I have a twitchy weird sense of humour, and DG makes me laugh. If something is offensive but harmless, it really is much easier to ignore it than appear boorish and whine about it. I've done it endlessly on mal's fisting threads/posts.......
