If a profile says owned or collared I don't see the problem, if your interest is just in looking for a potential sub pass the owned profile by. Many on here look for friendship and that doesnt have to change on being owned.

If I had a collared sub on here I would not expect them to deactivate their profile, I myself enjoy getting mails from people interested in friendship or commenting on posts and that communication would not be possible with a deactivated profile.

I'm guessing that this is not gender specific, that would not be politicaly correct.

As an owned male slave, mi'Lady asked me if I would like to have an account here. I figured why not. I get to meet new peolpe share experiences and learn to serve her better. IMHO, if the profile is up to date and states clearly that the person is owned, then move on, don't contact them unless they are seeking friends. Keep that in mind as you type as well.

Now if your profile is not up to date and you get contacted by someone, please be kind and respectful when informing the person who has contacted you.

But in no way shape or form, should owned subs or slaves have to deactivate their profiles, unless asked to do so by their Mistress/Mastere's

We actually insisted that our "owned" slave have an active profile. This is not only so she may be able to receive mail from friends through the site, but so she could post to the message boards. It clearly states she is quite content where she is and to my knowledge, she hasn't been harassed. Also, when reading posts, it is nice to be able to have the option of looking to see who you might be replying to. Perhaps their particular situation validates the way they are responding in a thread (location, dynamic, sex, etc.). If they deactivate their profile, it seems like they would become some sort of recluse just because they are happy where they are, heavy price to pay for being happy I would think. Also, I have friends who are owned & unowned subs/slaves and even Dommes who certainly aren't on the available list, which I converse with on a friendly level. I'm certainly not trying to wisk them away into the night. Maybe the key here is for those who are sending the messages, to read the profile that's provided.

I must admit, I thought the profiles were for dating also. Thats why I dont have a profile. Im not looking for a date. But I see now what you guys are trying to say.

But sure, looking at it like its for dating, I was confused by the fact that people where listed as being owned. I thought it was screwy. Hoosier Scorpio might be thinking that too.

I think a better way of profile listing would be in catagorys. Have a section named Already Owned or something. Or, Subs in search of Doms. Etc etc. It might cut down on the confusion. As it is now, you really gotta do a lot of wading. I think it should be revamped a bit to make things clearer.

Of course I may have looked thru it incorrectly, so maybe everything I just said is already in place. If so, my apologies.

I agree, something should be noted in the heading of the profile or at least the first couple of sentences, deactivation isn't necessary.

For those who don't indicate in their profile that they are not looking, yet get nasty when contacted, just consider the poor bastard who has to deal with them on a daily basis and be glad you aren't him.

I personally prefer a profile to no profile--I like to see who is behind the poster--as far as the site, it is not just for finding a relationship, but also for friends---simply avoid those and move on.

Wow that is a bit whiney.

Every week there seem to be posts about things like this and I always I wonder if male doms that do that kind of whine on public boards realize how un-domly it makes them sound? If I were a single female submissive and looking at these types of posts I'd be pretty instantly turned off.

When I came onto collar me I was owned, both my owner sat around one evening and signed onto collarme because we saw so many other locals that we knew. I've made it pretty clear in my profile that I'm owned. But I've also made it clear that I'm still interested in playing with female tops. Even if I weren't I'd still have a profile up so people knew a little bit about me.

Edited to Add: There is a category on the profile where you can check off what you are looking for, and I find most people who are *not* looking just check off that they are only looking for friends.

Why should I?

The fact that I am owned is in my profile. Plus it provides great entertainment to get emails from someone who says "I read your profile..." I always ask them which part of my profile interested you? I don't usually hear back from them after that. I get the occasional "Does your master rent or loan you out?" I just say "Ask him" It is amazing how few have the courage to actually send him an email.

My guess, and I could be wrong, that not everyone on this site is here to seek a Master and/or slave ... some folks may just want to know other folks for friendly discussions. We do still have the need for friendships in this world, right? :-)

First off, I agree that if you are annoyed by getting emails from dorks- then either put yourself in a position to NOT be able to get emails from dorks, or email me so I can help put your life into perspective for you.

However, most of us aren't annoyed by random dorks who can't read profiles. They are the dorks for emailing when it's clearly stated what position we happen to be in. We get to enjoy all the perks of having a nice profile up and don't experience any of those negative bits.

I am owned and it says very clearly in the first line of my profile. While I don't get the number of emails from men looking to play/collar/??? any more, I still get the occasional one wanting to "own" me...*laughs* Since Master has access to my accounts He generally takes care of those so it's not an issue. Why do I keep my profile active? Because I enjoy meeting new people and developing friendships.

Silly question: If they say they are collared or owned, why are you bothering them with emails looking for a slave or sub? If they say they are owned or collared, they ARE saying in their profile that they are not looking you to waste your precious time, aren't they? I see on your profile you have a girl under contract and collar but are looking for a second one, so apparently your efforts were not wasted......another silly question: Does your girl have a profile on collarme???? I would be very interested to know that answer, and think others might want to know also....
