ORIGINAL: SomethingCatchy If you live in San Fran, why not just get involved in one of the many groups local to you? If you're really adamant about finding someone online, I'm sure you could set up a network through the groups in your area and meet lots of people that you wouldn't be able to meet because of how many people are so involved there. Great ideas, thanks Yeah; what was it that Cali said a couple of months ago when some guy from San Francisco was in one of the forums asking a similar question? "You're in San Franfuckingcisco - open your window and shout!" A little blunt, but a point well-made. Seriously, I've spent enough time in the Bay Area over the last year to know that it's Kink City. There's a huge scene there. It's one of the top 4 or 5 cities in the country for finding people, and one of the friendliest cities in the country period. I've seen your profile, and you come across as a very nice, sincere, thoughtful person with a lot going for her. You should be able to make a lot of connections at some of your local munches, and it will do at least two things for you - restore your optimism, and give you a chance to face-to-face with real people with normal social skills, rather than the billions of total dweebs who haven't set foot out of their mothers' basements since christ was a kindergartner and whose only connection with the rest of their species is the internet. If you're relatively new to the scene, it will also help you develop some skills at sniffing out the bullshit profiles, too. The internet's all cool and stuff, but there ain't nothin' like the real thing, baby!
