An interesting point.

Personally, as long as it's a private group, I don't see why it's not legal and shouldn't be allowed. Now, if I'd give money to them or support them is an entirely different matter...

Well, for starters, discrimination in hiring based on race is illegal.

Anyone running a business should know that.

I'm not as familiar with the laws but, as it's a team, I don't see how it's more against the law than not taking on a male player for a female team.

Maybe I find it difficult because I am so far remote from your generation? You're obviously very sore that you weren't accepted in the Miss Black America competition: proof, if one needs one, that discrimination is kind of a sucky thing.

I just read that Miss Black America was created because black women weren't allowed to compete in the all-white, very monochromatic, Miss America. I fail to see why you rant and rave against it, when it was obviously a positive attempt at counterbalancing the blatant prejudice black people were experiencing, especially in those days.

Certainly it has absolutely nothing to do with the subject of this thread. But any excuse to derail with your own agenda. I know that you're against affirmative action: that you manage to spin a thread about white supremacy into yet another rant about affirmative action proves what a waffler you truly are :-) .

Take golf for example,  Should there be only "black" golf tournaments? For years it was common practice not to allow minorities access to these private clubs.

It's true that you can operate a private enterprise in the manner that you see fit.

It's sad that you are unable to see the robes through the hoods.

I'm not sure what the suggestion here is. That if a ethnic-group-driven endeavor is done that will counterbalance what has historically been a reverse ethnic-group-driven endeavor of the same kind, that it invokes special privilege?

Instead of being condescending you could politely explain why you think sexism (any group that only admits based on sex is sexist) is ok but this isn't.

As I'm sure you've already read, I stated that I don't support this. However there is a huge difference between supporting something or not and not seeing why it should be illegal. 

I'm honestly asking - what are the laws that make it ok for completely male and female teams (taking on based on sex even though it's against the law to deny someone a job based on their sex) but not ok to have a white team, black team, or mexican team?

I'm not "sore" at all - I see it as it is - prejudicial. I don't understand why you have such difficulty no such a fundamental, and accurate, position. I also don't think you are too young to appreciate that reality. My children don't have a problem with it.

"Was" - Reflecting accurately the past. Rationalizing acceptance in the present insures its perpetuation in the present and future tenses. I "rant and rave against it" because it is always wrong, always was, always is, and always will be; regardless of the group doing it. If I cared, I'd wonder why aren't you doing the same.
