ORIGINAL: NihilusZero People get disproportionately emotionally invested in certain hot-topics. Now who's being condescending? Certainly not me. I do find some humour in the people that are jumping on the bandwagon of this thread to support the KKK, but that's between them and their conscience, I suppose. I'm the one who said that. Not him. Just for the record. No one is supporting the KKK. People are questioning if it's actually illegal. There is a huge difference there. quote:
Aquatic, the difference between gender discrimination and colour discrimination in sport should be more than obvious to you - I'm surprised you're not seeing it. Sports events and sports competitions discriminate on the basis of gender because of performance ability. Perhaps this will change when men and women achieve the same results on a regular basis. Race discrimination in sport, on the other hand... well, what could possibly be the reason behind it ? Personally, I don't support having two different teams, though I can't say I care enough to get up in arms about it. I played on women's only teams but I always despised the modified rules and standards. As a female sportswoman, I always felt we should have one team with one set of standards and whoever makes it, makes it. I feel the same way in regards to the military and police force. However there are tons of private teams and leagues. I'm sure you wouldn't be offended by a team that was only taking African-Americans or Mexicans or homosexual kids or whatnot to help teach them teamwork. Discrimination is discrimination. If it's a group that only takes African-American players, contestents, whatevers than they are being discriminating. While the intent is almost certainly different between a Chinese team and a white team, the laws and legality of it is the same.
