As a woman, i agree its all about choices... the right to chose to keep or abort, to put it bluntly. i applaud this woman and her decision so many years ago. and i have mo issue with her running her ad. However, equal time should be given to both sides. Its about a woman's choice... not one woman's choice being the only one for everyone.

If the Pro Abortion peeps want to run an ad, all they have to do is pony up the $5 mil like everyone else.

This is why men like you should stay silent when it comes to this issue. You are clueless as to what you are talking about and the more you open your mouth, the more clueless you prove yourself.

Pro Abortion?

Tebow is projected as a third rounder.....and not as a qb.If he insists on playing qb...he might just go undrafted.
As far as Tim's mother....all information I can gather leads me to beleive there is absolutely no team currently considering drafting her.

willbeurdaddy -> RE: Tom Tebow's Mom. (1/28/2010 11:49:10 AM)

And including Charlie Ward as "unsuccessful" is a bit disingenuous since he opted to play basketball.

Nevertheless, Tebow will not go high in the draft, more likely 3rd round than 1st, and the intention of the team that drafts him may be to use him as a tight end and third backup QB. (Ward was probably a better QB than Tebow, and a better college QB than basketball player. If he opted for the NBA it doesnt say a lot for Tebow's long term prospects).

Talk about disingenuous.Ward was undrafted as a football player and a first round draft pick as a Knick.
Does that mean I can say I opted to work for verizon rather than play professional football?

Tim Tebow is not QB material for the NFL.  I have a hard time believing he goes 1st round.  He has no footwork, he can't take snaps under center.  He should be a receiver, not QB, unless he improves big time.  He is having a disappointing senior bowl practice experience.

Yes, I know.

I keep getting in arguments about that because people down here think he's the next Dan Marino.

And that little crying spell after they lost to Alabama?  Jesus, if the worst thing he has ever had to go through was losing a football game he be should grateful.

The way to lessen abortion is to change people minds. The adds should run.

The only way to lessen abortions is to prevent unwanted pregnancies and medical conditions dictating the neccessity of one.

Pro Abortion?

Bullshit...If I am stupid enough to impregnate a woman, I damn well better have a say in the pregnancy.

Pro Choice...Pro Abortion...Whats the difference, really?

No.... strictly speaking unwanted pregnancies CAN be dealt with in other ways. Regardless of anyones belief,  abortion is not the only response to an unwanted pregnancy.

Lucylastic -> RE: Tom Tebow's Mom. (1/28/2010 2:42:39 PM)

Pro abortion= pushing women to aborting their viable fetus
Pro choice = letting the woman make an informed choice about her many possible choices
stupid question really

No one said every unwanted/dangerous pregnancy MUST end in abortion. If only people who wanted/could care for the resulting pregnancy, then fewer abortions would be performed. Simple math, my previous statement stands.

Jeffff -> RE: Tom Tebow's Mom. (1/28/2010 3:05:26 PM)

Look, I have my hands full wrestling the hard core right wing. But if enough people decide to give a baby up for adoption  instead of aborting it, the number of abortions would fall.

Thus my statement about changing minds.

See?

hlen5 -> RE: Tom Tebow's Mom. (1/28/2010 3:15:27 PM)

Since you and I aren't arguing apples vs oranges (more like Jonathans and Granny Smiths) and since you've got your hands full with the hard-core right, I'll agree to table this (not concede!!!), and say "Go get 'em, you Anteater, you"!!

Jeffff -> RE: Tom Tebow's Mom. (1/28/2010 3:32:38 PM)

Anyway, let the add run. I don't see who it hurts. I don't see how there can be a backlash. I don't see men all over America saying," turn off the TV honey, I am offended".

If it is a good game, a woman could lose a hand trying that shit.

This feels like one of those controversies... that isn't that controversial.

Jeff

The ad is funded by Focus on the Family. That group opposes the right to choose for all women. The group provides no services to pregnant women. What purpose do you think they have for running the spot?

The fact remains that CBS previously rejected a pro gay marriage ad by a church as being controversial but has now accepted this ad.

I don't care who funded the Tebow ad. It's not relevant. The content of the ad (which you oppose based on assumptions without having seen) is the only relevant issue here. You must have missed the questions I asked you.

Did CBS reject the gay marriage ad simply because of the group who created it or because of the content of the ad?

Maybe planned parenthood will put up some money ? It will be difficult to film a commercial with 10 days to go though.

What the fuck?

So Mrs Teabag didn't abort her son...So what?  So he is a quarterback? Big fucking deal.

Would planned parenthood sponsor a commercial doning Florida State jerseys and lamenting Mrs. Teabags decision?

You want kids have a fucking pile of the fuckers.  If you don't we live in a country where abortion is an option.

End of story.

You do not deserve to root for the Green and Gold.

God should do a late term abortion on those southside crackheads.  Not that big of a deal since they were obviously the product of rape.

AsmodaisSin -> RE: Tim Tebow's Mom. (1/28/2010 4:09:54 PM)

This is all kind of amusing.  Between the SEXIST insults and everything else, I don't know who's worse.  -Sighs.-

Mrs. Tebow had a choice, on whether or not she chose to abort her son or not, and she choice life.  That was her choice, and she wants to share that via this ad paid for by an organization that supports her rightful choice.  As a woman, I am personally pro-life, but as someone who is a libertarian, I am pro-choice.  The government shall pass no law infringing upon my right (and Daddy's) to tell me what I can or can't do with this body.  My "right to privacy."

We haven't really even seen the ad yet.  Chances are, she'll make some warm, squishy statement about how glad she was that she chose life, hug her son, and be done with it.  She's celebrating her choice.  Unless she's doing a strip tease with a fake fetus and talking about life, I don't see what the problem is.  I really don't.

And I find it rather disgusting that some of you females have been so rude to the males about abortion.  Wow.  Just wow.  "You're a man.  You don't have a say."  Two people were needed to create that fetus, and as long as we need men to help create those fetuses, I think that they should have some sort of say.  To disregard the completely is a very dangerous choice, in my opinion.

Absolutely nobody is pro-abortion. Nobody promotes it as if it were a desirable thing, and something to be aspired to. Get some education, for fucksake. \

Although now that I think of it, I just had some wicked cool ideas for some pro-abortion commercials [:(] .

Have someone kicking a fetus through the crossbars?
