It's interesting to see how upset people can get by this topic.

It's funny, you know. I was just thinking.... "wow it's interesting how argumentative that Celtic dude is."

interesting observation sunshinemiss!

RM - just so you realize... he was responding to sexy red.

*smooches the hottie tottie Red Maic...

Yes, this seems to be happening quite a bit lately. Between RedMagic, Daddysredhead and me, whenever anyone writes Red, I think it is me. Perhaps we should let RedMagic be just red and you can just call me Sexy, just to differentiate who is talking to whom.

I'm also noticing that he is selectively ignoring certain logical questions ;-)

Also, I just looked at his profile and guess what I saw. Criteria! Oh my!

You know, I wrote about how I have a list of what makes up my perfect partner. It has 39 things on it. Did I think that I"d find a man who would meet that criteria? Nope. But it did make me think about what I truly want. What perfection would be like for me. It has things on it like - he has work and hobbies he enjoys, he has good relationships with other men, he can't wait to tell me about his day. You know, regular stuff. Of course it also has things like... he smells great, I'm deeply attracted to him, he expects sexuality as part of our relationship (I know it seems obvious, but it isn't).

I met that man. He met 38 of the criteria. the last one - it's a time will tell kind of thing. Whether it works out... who knows? BUT I was able to reflect upon what is important to me, what would be yummy for me, and what I would like in a perfect world. My dealbreakers are a dozen or so. One of them being I'M DEEPLY ATTRACTED TO HIM. Without that, the rest is nothing. Topping from the bottom? Bein' unsubbly? I DON"T CARE. I must first and foremost be true to myself. Other people don't understand that? Too bad.

Am I Scottish now?  WTF?  Spread some haggis and some Nutella on me, and I'm good to go!

I realized he might have been talking to her.  His presumption at allowing someone to do as they saw fit was more what I was trying to comment on.  Intentional obtuseness for rhetorical effect.

oooooo big words make me feel all tingly. yum.

Raw eggs make fabulous gags. Just sort of put a little eyelash glue on the shell and pop it in the mouth and proceed with torture. Too much wincing and someone ends up with egg on their face!

I find myself in a bit of a box if I start listing things. I personally get a bit rigid is I tell meyslef "A person has to have such and such, and do this and that."

In the long run,I came to realize it was from a sense of insecurity at my ability to control things. Then,I had to come to the realization that I couldn't.

And didn't really want to. Not by coming across as some sort of charming, glad-handing ass kissing Knight. Or being emotionally manipulative. It's never worked in the long run-only lead to resentment.

I try to express a very base level about where i come from......I'm probably projecting some of my own past mistakes when I read similar things..and I wonder.."Is that what you really need..or only what you THINK you do?"

The only real constant is change.

Just because someone answers you assertively, does not mean they are upset, it means they have a strong opinion...or is that not allowed either in subville?

Actually, nope you aren't and I quote:

Sorry Red you wuz wrong.

Really? I didn't see one upset person. I saw people give you their opinion. Methinks you are projecting just a tad. ;-)

I guess we aren't living up to your fantasy of getting all up in arms over your relatively tame thread OP!

How could it be physically feasible to get to the point of significant interaction with everyone who writes you? That would be impossible. You have to whittle down your emails.

In the first place, once you are off the New Users list, the number of emails you get per day will significantly decrease.  It will decrease more if you remove your photo, or if you leave your weight blank, or both.  I had a personal rule never to write a woman during her first 30 days on the site, because I did not want to be lost in the crowd.  I wanted to ensure she read my email seriously, and had an opportunity to respond.

In the second place, I haven't looked at your profile, and I don't know if you're sub, switch or domme.  However, I could still send you an email you would probably respond to.  For example: "I like your nick.  Lewis Carroll, who wrote Alice in Wonderland, was a logician and mathematician by trade, and I've always felt a bit connected to him.  I've had poetry published, and I'm currently, in my job, trying to use logic to prove things about how to design error-resistant microscopic computers.  Why did you choose your username, if I may ask?  Best,  myrealname."

Whether that would inspire a response (or a block/delete) from you, I hope you see my point.  Interaction -- generating interest, so the lady says, "Hmmm, he sounds like an intriguing guy to get to know" -- is more important than anything I could write in a profile update.
