Sorry this whole coulda shoulda but didnt blow up the world is really a pathetic argument, dumb actually. Hot air and self importance. As for intelligence ..well Im mad about a repub who is hugely intelligent, a computer whiz and very very religious. But he has a huge side dose of compassion and understanding about the realities and downside of life. Thats the intelligence needed by large numbers of Libertarians, repubs and cons.. YMMV

Just like others...you don't have rebuttals so you change the subject. Let me ask you this... did Native Americans make war and take land of their neighbors? Yes they did… so they are no more or less noble then any other group…with no more or less ethics either…and no more or less right to the land they took by aggression. I don’t buy the noble Indian bit…every nation in this world is built on the ashes of civilizations before it. This said by an American of Indian decent. …me. Now ethics can only be judged by the actions of a people in an instance of history. In that instance Christian ethics made the difference from the Hitler and Stalin’s of that time. Perhaps in the past and the future those ethics were or will be tested again with less noble results. Butch

Oh I understand you now, Christian ethics are constantly evolving to suit the personal needs of individual nations. They aren't constant at all, just a veil of convenience. Like those American missionaries in Haiti that are blind to adult suffering but can't seem to prevent themselves from stealing children from their parents to make the children's lives better. 'oh don't worry about all those suffering adults, we can't fix that problem, the children are far more important we'll plant them into new families rather than fixing the existing ones they had.' Their charity and understanding is selective.

Most intelligent people tolerate conservatism. Just like they tolerate the minor inconveniences of life, like the common cold and when you realise (too late) that the last person to use the bog used the last of the toilet paper. It's not intolerant to point out the flaws in something, you know :-) . Besides, conservative people are kind of cute (look at Rush Limbaugh! He's adorable.), and they have a lot of use. For example, they make it easier for the rest of us to feel superior and condescending. Life is wonderful.
