cuddleheart50 -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/7/2006 12:02:01 PM)

I had a Dom tell me that I had a heart that needed cuddled.

bignipples2share -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/7/2006 12:16:16 PM)

I rather enjoy this name I've selected, it certainly has helped me to weed out, in a most timely manner, those that are not what I'm looking for. Why waste 20 messages back and forth under any type of name, when all they ever really wanted was a naked picture in the first place. I've also met some wonderful people with this name, still converse with, and they have never asked, 'how big are they', 'you got of pics of them?' LOL
It serves me well.

scratchingpost -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/7/2006 3:43:54 PM)

I think that a name helps denote a persons personality. I have always identified with a kitty personality...in fact that is my name (thanks to my grandmothers nickname) however personality wise I resemble a kitty playful, curious, ferocious, independent, cuddly, attention seeking, pleasing and I like to scratch.

If those that are interested in that personality type contact me they know what they are in for, and perhaps like You Ironwolf, who seems to not desire such personality type (which is all fine and good since we each have different needs and desires) wish to avoid me it helps wade through seemingly endless profiles.

I will say one thing however, sometimes you cant judge a book by its cover either and I am sure that because I often go by appealing screen names at first glance too I have missed some really amazing people as well. So it does have its pro's and con's to this methodology.

tears4him -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/7/2006 3:55:39 PM)

I like some of the imagination some put into their screen names. But like stated before, when you think you made a good one, you find it already taken. But I have to say, i've read a few good books because covers have been torn off. And i've read a few that after 1st chapter, i've tossed to the side with the cover on them. So I like to look past covers to see what's in the inside. <Tears>

Arpig -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/7/2006 4:19:34 PM)

well LORD ironwolf, I checked in Burke's and no sign of your title, so would you be so kind as to let me know where the title was granted...or are you just a twit who uses the word Lord in your screenname to make you seem more important...inquiring minds want to know, myself I already know the answer

saltygoodness27 -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/7/2006 4:49:53 PM)

I have to admit, I joke about the online handle of daddylilkittenslavegirl as being an all-in-on twinky BDSM name, but there's usually something behind a handle.  My AOL handle seems silly and a little young, but I've had since the beginning of "teh internet," and I love it:-)

nikaa -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/7/2006 5:06:43 PM)

Iron Bear!
You did it again made me laugh!
That is so mean when I am overly tired.

Though I do like the idea of saying
"yes Master Cat Shit"
or
"yes Mistress Kitty Litter"

*laughs and thinks its time for bed*

bignipples2share -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/7/2006 5:57:11 PM)

Well, I do tend take their screen name into account and respond, 'sorry, I'm not into that', when they've a screen name like, 'SubNeedsScat'.

So, I guess I'd better rethink my idea of my new screen name of Lord Master LilKittenKitty.

FUNNY!

rivenmoon -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/7/2006 6:43:22 PM)

"What's in a name?"
Seems to be a lot, [8|] when reading through the profiles and  posts.

I have learned generally that One word can have so many definitions.
Thus, a word, a name can be interpreted in different ways depending on the reader and how they wish to use or accept it.
This is why the art of diplomacy is so important in global exchange - words can inspire or inflame people to do many things
and obliviously this is the case as noted in this forum discussion.[;)]
I myself, love the written and spoken word and therefore appreciate those who can hold a conversation and write creatively.
Having written and said what I have so far, you may think I'm a real chatterbox or maybe a snob? Smile here, I'm a good listener, love learning and I do make grammar and spelling mistakes (I don't take offence, so please correct me when I am wrong).
Since I found how to use the message board I do so much enjoy the forums on Collarme; there are so many thought-provoking, creative, funny, informative posts from you all.

As for my name?
rivenmoon

You can find "riven" and "moon" in the dictionary and also dont forget the thesaurus.
I profile as rivenmoon or email replies  -riven, but of course these are only nicknames.
Sometimes I get called river by others misreading or maybe something sublimal from their side *shrugs doesnt worry me.

It is said that a cat has 3 names -
one by which it known, one by which it wishes to be called and the third a secret that only the cat knows itself.

Best Wishes -riven

You need to have "angel" in there as well.  I think there is some kind of rule requiring 1/3 of all fem sub scene names to be some variation of "kitten" or "angel."

As for me, "Volcano" is an old college nickname.  I generally use it or some recognizable variation, except around Christmas when I am "Insanity_Claus."

CERCKL -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/8/2006 1:44:18 AM)

I have decided to change from CERCKL to something more appropriate, more commanding...say, SirMasterLordAbsoluteDietyCERCKL...malicious grin.

LadyWolfdreams -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/8/2006 7:34:51 AM)

I've never rejected someone because of a screen name. The opposite is more likely to happen with me - a unique screen name has on more than one occasion inspired me to write someone, or at least check out their profile.

My own name is one I use on a lot of levels - as a writer (I write under the pen name Lady Ember Wolfdreams), as a screen name used in all of the online discussion groups I take part in, and as a title both spiritually and in D/s.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/8/2006 7:59:52 AM)

I generally don't reject prospective submissives on the basis of a screen name.  Even if it is a name I don't like, I would usually give the person a chance and get to know the person behind the name.

There are a few exceptions, however.  One is offensive or presumptuous screennames.  For example, ones containing the numbers "69" I generally pass by. as well as ones that are overly graphic.

The other situation is when the screenname tells Me upfront the person is primarily interested in areas of BDSM that I'm not into, such as "babytimmie" for an adult baby, or "cuck4u" for a male who wants to be cuckolded.  I'd still check the profile to be sure, but generally when a person gears their screenname to a particular fetish, that's the main thing they're into.  Since I'm not seeking either an adult baby or a cuckold, I would pass either of these by.  If it were a fetish I like, such as foot worship, I would probably give the person a chance, as long as they were open to other things as well, since I need variety.

Now I'm wondering how many princes there are here. I was actually here (briefly) as just Sitri but I killed the profile because I was having problems with accessing the site, and I'm superstitious. If anyone's interested Sitri is a prince of the infernal hierarchy.

A pupil of Solomon? ;)

sskitten -> RE: Screen names and RT (4/8/2006 11:32:10 AM)

I am one of those unimaginative kittens.  Sigh!

The "ss," in my mind, could mean any two-word pairing of sweet, sex, and slave.  I shortened them to ss out of bashfulness and in the interests of discretion.  Occasionally the "ss" has been misinterpreted, as in:

"Would you maybe like to be interrogated by a young man in an SS uniform?"

But that question ended up leading to a wonderful online friendship, so the "ss" has turned out to be a blessing, even if the "kitten" part makes me common.
