Funny thing is Mohammed had been portrayed in south Park previously and no one complained.

No that episode didn't generate any controversy, but there was another that did.

It was called "Cartoon Wars" from 2006 and it's theme was the Danish cartoons depicting Mohammed and the extremists' reaction to them.

And just as now Comedy Central refused to air major parts of the show.

That's exactly what I said...If we cram down the throats of other peoples our values, hold their values in no regard...

What makes us think we have the right to do that....the others have no say?

Free speech.....includes ridicule....right????????? No matter who or where or what......right?????? Irregardless to traditions, cultures, countries, religious sensibilities ?????????

Free Speech is a concept, not all together accepted by everyone. With Free Speech comes certain responsibilities, respect......but, it seems, not according to you guys.......you guys believe you can say anything you damn want no matter who you offend.

The Kachina Doll is a revered image to Native American Tribes....some Company was making whiskey decanters of the Kachina.

You can read, but you lack in comprehension.

In my opinion, anyone or anything that is placed on such a high pedestal MUST be prepared and allow for criticism and mocking.  To my mind blind belief in ANY deity is a dangerous thing. we should always question and accept that others WILL question what we hold sacred.

The same goes for humour. No-one or nothing is above it and should ever be made so.

Well yes, but if you offend, then that enity may seek recourse for the perceived offense...then while they are beheading you...you can tell them ...but your country signed the free speech accord.....

What does South Park care of the ramifications something like this can lead to....it's not their blood that will be spilt...they'll be counting the green.

The suits did the right thing by yanking the episodes.

I don't argue your point,..... in truth, my barb was intentionally at LE for her stupid nazi remark to me....I'm still awaiting it's apology.

But if the deity wants revenge thats fair it is HE/SHE who was insulted, that is for the deity to decide, not it's followers who have no real and direct order to do so.

Before you open the box the cat is both dead and alive, thus to us they exist and they don't exist; until we conduct the test to determine if they exist.

Well, two points.

First, murdering someone is not an accepted method of recourse for being offended by what someone says.

Second, "the suits" as you call them bowed to the intimidation of veiled death threats which will only encourage more of the same now that they have been successful in censoring what they perceive as offensive.

An apology for calling you a nazi? I didnt call you a nazi - I called you a nincompoop wannabe nazi. And you'll wait a long time for an apology for that considering the comments you made.

If in the meantime you wish to hold my comment in mind I see that as a good thing. Perhaps eventually, by means of it continued presence in your thoughts, it might lead to reexamine your ideas.

I think where they went wrong was having to pull the dolls head off to get to the whiskey.

It should have been set up to stream out of her pussy!

The group, Revolution Muslim, is run by a couple of Jewish guys. Joseph Cohen is the main operator of the RM.

Coincidentally Matt Stone of SP is also Jewish.

Small world.

Some people made a cartoon. That's not exactly cramming values down their throats, is it?

Why would others have some say about what I can or can not say in public? After all, I'm not telling them to shut up, am I? They are just as free to voice their opinions (and many do so, without any inhibition, it seems).

Indeed, and be glad it does all that. You understand that the nature of this site might be very offending to some, yes?

Good lord... ok. What if I declare that I'm a... moon, yes, a moon worshiper? And any disrespectful usage of the word "moon" is deeply offensive to me. Oh yes, in fact, any remark about the moon hurts my feelings. So, please, refrain from using the word "moon" from now on, ok? Thank you very much. Oh, and one more thing... if you don't comply, well, you have been warned; I can not be held responsible for the unfortunate consequences your blatant disrespect will have.

I jest, of course. But I hope you'll see that you can't take everyone's strong belief into account. However, you can allow everyone a retort.

Cartoons by their very nature set about to draw attention to certain things often overlooked in the pace of society

X-actly! The answer to speech you don't like is to counter it with more speech, or just tune the fucker/s out. Islam isn't special, Muslims aren't special, and that cocksucker Mohammed ain't special. Get over it.

Oh dear. It seems the Revolution Muslim website got hacked a bit in the aftermath. What a shame that people who raise the shadow of violence over speech should find themselves on the receiving end of some personally directed speech. They got a new design for their whole site, as you can see here

So sad.
