Nope, it's not shallow or pathetic, in my opinion It's a group that specializes in a special age range, there's groups that are 35 and over only, or 50 and over only. It's a specific niche.

It's actually very nice, in my opinion to have a group that has an age cap on it, so that people who care about that kind of thing, and who want to be able to see more people closer to their age in events, can have a place to do that.

TNG (The Next Generation) groups are specifically for the younger folks just starting out. As was said, the age for them starts at 18, when most can't yet get into BDSM clubs. From the POV of an 18-20 year old, not being admitted to a club due to their age is probably seen as shallow, judgmental, and pathetic... no?

1- the munch, event- whatev er it was, was held at the shereton(sp?) in towson. 2- if you wanted a reply to know where it was held, we have c-mail, and i havent seen ANY mail from you, although i have noticed you viewed my profile. this is the first time i have visted my thread since my last post, so wouldn't it make sense to send me a message? and i'll say again- i couldn't care less if you don't believe me and i won't bother to waste my energy to convice you otherwise. but i digress. anyway- i had heard about that event from a flyer on facebook since "BDSM" is listed as one of my interests. but taking note of what some of the members have stated on this thread- the event was not held by an area group, like TNG. the woman was very mum on what the intentions of what would take place(clean meet n' greet or play party)- if it was to be a play party, no way in hell would i bring my best friend or boyfriend who claim to be vanilla. but thanks to the munch go-ers here- i know what to look for at a proper munch.

Hmm I find the youth events that I have been to are terrible, its about posing and posturing and showing people how beautiful you are, you then take that status and go to the regular events with your wonderful youth following and make it an elite thing.

I dont like the division, and generally I havent found regular munches to be less inclusive to the younger generation, however it is different in the uk as you are allowed to drink younger. I dunno I dont have a problem with younger peoples events but I think sometimes it creates this idea that older people are repugnant to the younger folks and for people just starting and young that they should be afraid. One of the things I have found most beneficial of events is the friendships I have made with people out of my age bracket sorry total sidetrack from the OP

dont apologize. i understand where you coming from. in my lower high school days, (like 15 or 16), i HATED events that were specifically for the younger set-like club events. never had a fake ID, but i managed to get into the older people's events. not to drink, but it was more fun and carefree- at least it was from my pov
