You have a tendancy to skip over all the really good points of my thread and pick out the one point that you can argue.
I'd call it 'skipping the flaws in your posts (*not* your thread because this *isn't* your thread, lol) that I know other people will have discussed/will discuss because nobody benefits by fifty people saying the same thing, and focussing on the parts I think other people might miss', but hey, semantics...

quote:

Yes, it's not conclusive. Worst-case scenario, it's a feature that turns out to not get that much use and the design team wasted a few hours updating the tables for peoples profiles.

No. Worst-case scenario is your suggestion of a ratings-style system, where Dommes are forced to reply with politeness and grace to every dipshit that messages her in case he fucks her ratings over or reports her as a pro for blocking him. Worst-case scenario is admin effectively editing a user's profile to say 'professional' without their consent, because other users have reported them as a professional, regardless of their actual circumstances.

I'm holding the rights of a Domme to define herself as pro/non-pro above your right to skim through profiles a bit quicker. An issue which I still haven't seen you address, which is funny given that you've just accused me of cherry-picking...

You essentially just said to me, "If you don't like it, go somewhere else."

No. I said if you don't like it AND ARE UNWILLING TO VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME AND MONEY TO IMPROVE IT then you can go somewhere else.

Really? That's what it was? ACTUALLY BRINING IT UP WAS WHINING? WHINING?

Maybe people just shouldn't be allowed to speak if they have an idea.

After all, ideas for improvement are just "whining," and no maker of any product is interested in them.

Actually I said "whinging" and not "whining." [8|]

And yes, the OP was whining. He was not offering any productive solutions, he was just complaining about something he doesn't like.

WHAAATT?!

That's not true. the entire OP WAS a suggestion about what to do. Seperate the profiles between those looking get get money from their dominance and those who were not.

MY GOD!! The whole thread has been about this.

What -- was he supposed to suggest HTML code to the site for doing this?

Yes, they could.  They clearly choose not to.

Glad I could help you solve that puzzler.

Your above statement may be true.

No, saying "I would like this" is not offering a productive solution.

A productive solution would be offering to overhaul the software or hire someone else to do so.

If the system fails you disable it. It won't fail. You're essentially hindering progress out of fear, from the above statement.

This statement makes no sense. When did I say that dommes couldn't define themselves as pro/non-pro?

You've gotta be kidding me!! You're outa you're mind!! You actually think somebody needs to do THAT to simply make a suggestion about a feature they'd like?

Sorry. You're totally not in touch with reality.

Um...yes. If he wanted to GET INVOLVED to actually IMPROVE something and IMPLEMENT his own ideas, proposing a workable solution would be a good first step.

The owners of CM are obviously happy with the way the site is now - why the fuck would you expect THEM to hire a software engineer to fix YOUR problems?

Oh no, they can make the suggestion all they want.

If they want it to be taken seriously though they need to be serious about it themselves.

Oh, gee golly, I wonder if this poll will be biased by the TON of people here.

You even went on to use such fair, impartial words as "segregated".

You also added about 4 ways to say "No" and only 1 way to say yes...

The problem with a poll is that people won't vote for something that isn't in their own self-interest, even if it's the right thing to do.

EVERYTHING begins with an idea. The original poster has caught my attention which resulted in me proposing 2 reletively well-thought out technical solutions.

Nobody else has offered anything other than "It's dumb I don't like it", or "I think this wont work, I think that wont work".

Have you contacted support on the other side with your proposal? Are you willing to invest the money required to hire a software engineer to implement it?

If you have, I wish you luck. You're right that everything begins with an idea, but an idea doesn't change anything, it's the people willing to step up and put in the grunt work that actually change things.

What was that you were saying above about making statements without providing evidence?

quote:

You're essentially hindering progress out of fear, from the above statement.
Not fear, just an understanding of undesirable consequence-the benefit for you would be outweighed by the disadvantage to me.

I block maybe thirty or forty accounts a week for sending me unsolicited mail. Would you expect those users to take that rejection well? Probably not-I certainly don't. But if at some point I woke up and thought 'I want to start finding partners on the internet again', then those men would all have a say on how I was presented on this site, under your system. I am not happy with that idea. That represents a considerable disadvantage to me, which makes me hostile to your idea.

By having a user-assigned pro-tag (the system you have suggested) the Domme is defined as a pro by other users, not by herself-that means she can't define herself as non-pro if users decide to label her a pro. Does that make more sense?

Then you have no idea of what's involved in making a web site -- especially one like this. On the other hand, the people involved with putting CM together could do this fairly easily, without my help.

But you're saying nobody should make any criticism about the way CM works unless they're willing to do these draconian things, like rewrite the whole site HTML. If they don't, well, they're "whining,"

That's preposterous. Sorry. Very illogical mind.

Lockit -> RE: Couldn't CM Have a Category for Dommes Who Aren't After Money? (8/3/2010 4:55:15 PM)

I knew if I looked hard enough, I would prove that udaboss and lilboycaught were the same person even if they did hide their profiles. I think there is another nick on this thread, but haven't looked for that yet. You can hide a profile... but not the posts! Funny, they show up and support one another on the same days. I have also seen all three from around where I live. And the old picture of problemchild looks very much like udaboss, but they are now hidden.

So here we have a thread started by udaboss http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=2774345  The thread I will never forget.

Yes I think that people who complain about things when they have no desire to get involved to change them are whining.

It's not a bad thing, I whine quite a bit on these forums about quite a few things. I'm just saying, for those who are actually interested in changing the system, you're going to have to put some effort in. Probably more effort than skipping pro domme profiles. But that's what this is about, isn't it? I can't expect someone who is too lazy to skip profiles to actually get involved in trying to solve their own problems can I?

Also lol at your misuse of the word "draconian."

AHAHAHAHA OWNED

I'm betting dbloomer is one of them too because he called this thread "his thread" even though the OP was under a different name.

Well, silly girls can't stay on topic.

Because they can't argue their side.
