y'know, i can't actually find a great deal of fault with that. back in the day, when mom was out in the field getting the crops in, milking the cows, making the butter, the older children would look after the younger ones. and when they grew up, they knew how to run a house, and raise a child. and that child learned in turn. how many of the last few generations can say they had ANY idea on how to raise children, much less successfully keep a house? i was 3rd of 8, i helped to raise the younger of my siblings. i was in a much better spot on raising children (although in my parent's case, how NOT to raise a child in some respects), and housekeeping than many of my peers. my children's generation of peers? they don't know how to raise a plant, much less a child. and budgeting? you're joking!! frankly, i think these kids appear to be getting a good grounding in many aspects of life, and have a well rounded education in life, not just schooling.
