In the end ... it's just as hard for anyone to find the 'perfect' match ... Liken it to college days ... - Take organic chemistry ... if you get a 40% out of 100% you get an A ... understanding the subject matter is that difficult. - Take college history ... you need to get a 99% out of 100% to get an A ... it's that easy to understand the subject matter. (Yes, I've taken both in college; I do have a liberal arts degree.) In the end, it's just as hard to get an A (for wholly different reasons). The DIFFICULTY factor is balanced by sheer numbers. Same with your sexual statistics ... Point is, women, period, have an EASY time at having the whole of humanity thrown at them - but finding the "RIGHT" man is difficult (there are soooo many losers out there); while men have a much more difficult time finding women due to sheer overwhelming numbers in the competition (which is ironic actually, because there are just about as many men as women ... but nowhere near that ratio when it comes to sexual venues). If I were to post your basic casual encounters personals ad on Craigslist, for example, I'd get one, maybe two non-spam replies in a single week before the ad expired. If I told them how much I make yearly, the numbers would only double or triple. If a woman were to post a single sentence (maybe even a single word) in a casual encounters personals ad, she'd get nearly a hundred responses in just the first hour alone. Most of whom want a fling, and nothing else. Likewise, if I were to post your average "men-seeking-women" ad, the response rate would go up, maybe double and if I supplied my 1040, it would quadruple ... but still, I'd have about a dozen candidates, at the very most to choose from - but probably none of them want "just" a fling - they all want what the category is for. If the woman were to post to the "women-seeking-men" category, again, she'd be inundated with responses in the first hour ... HOWEVER ... most of those men would be looking for a quickie (aka no-strings attached, nsa, fwb, etc.) and many would be married. If she posts an attractive picture, her response rate would be so high as to be unmanageable, and she'd have to pull the ad just to save her email from the influx. Note: Thin is to men as money is to women is apt, even here. HOWEVER ... there is the overall quality to take into account. The QUALITY factor is balanced by sheer numbers. In the end ... despite the hugely skewed odds, both find it somewhat difficult to find a suitable partner - but we all prevail in the end (we hope). In summary, despite the huge difference in numbers, the end result is the same. We all find it a bit difficult but not too hard to find the RIGHT someone, despite the odds we're up against.
