AFAIK, the class system in the USA is actually slightly stronger than the UK. Someone born in the US underclass has notably less chance of working their way up than in the UK. However, it's the difference between worst and 2nd worst IIRC, so not something we can be proud of....but pah is being as sensible as usual. Individual examples for how meritocratic both nations are no doubt abound, nevertheless....in reality, both aren't....and class has little to do with NI troubles. EDITED to add: And Clinton wasn't trash ffs, working class at least...he had 'no dad' because of a car crash a couple of months before birth :p

No no, I didn't mean literally worst & 2nd worst out of all shithole nations worldwide, but comparisons of major (ie not counting every andorra) rich nations always seem to find us competing for a race to the bottom. My main point was that the claim that the US has no class system, or even is significantly less classy than the UK, is a wrong, b not much to do with NI...the area of the UK where partisanism is by far least to do with social status.
