the majority of people who said that they were sorry towards the leaders had no clue what had happened and knowing some of them personally, had they known what caused the "end of the play parties" would have responded very differently.
I'll buy that, but the response it out there for everyone to see and people will form their opinions from those responses.

Unfortunately very true. That is one of the things that I have come to appreciate, when people actually take the time to find out what is going on before they respond, something that i think most of the people who responded pro the hosts didn't do.

DommeJennice, at a kinky street fair at the end of September in SF, there's kids there, usually little, like 4 or 5, The parents feel there's no harm in bringing dear sweet little johnny or Suzzy out to kinky events with nudity and everything.

I have to admit, I have not seen children at a BDSM event before.

You just had to bring up Folsom didn't you?

Listen, the organizers for Folsom specifically ask attendees NOT to bring their kids. There's MANY reasons for that. First, it's ina-fuckin-propriate. I quite enjoyed the photo from last year's Folsom with a guy ejaculating into the crowd from his balcony during the festival, and the circle jerks, and the public blow jobs, and the SCORES of people pushed shoulder to shoulder. Let's not mention the public demos going on.

This is NOT an environment for kids. Folsom is at the end of September it's fuckin hot and not environmentally friendly to having kids or pets around (which the organizers specifically ask attendees not to bring as well).

As stated during the annual Folsom/kids debate, many of us kinky folk wish the idiots who bring their kids wouldn't come. We hate them. Why? Because having a knee high brat wondering around during our kinky fun kills the moment.

There's a COMPLETE difference in Folsom and this private play party. Folsom does not condone bringing children or animals to the event, which happens to span many city blocks and is outdoor.

The event in question is a private home, closed quarters, hosts locking their own kids up and not telling the guests situation.

Trying to compare these kinds of situations to one another is like comparing Gay Pride to the parents who hang their rainbow flag out their windows. Only a retard would think they're event remotely comparable.

If I was at a party at a private home and found that there were CHILDREN on the other side of that door marked "do not enter" I would be OUT of there in a hot minute because I do not believe in introducing five year olds to kink. I would be FURIOUS that I was not notified of the fact that there were kids in the house, and you bet I would let the hosts know.
Not only would i let the hosts know why i was leaving, but i would do it at a volume that ensured  every other guest was aware as well.

The morality of the ones attending the play party would be a moot point if the hosts practiced rational parenting.

I met a lovely couple once and spent a very erotic night with them. Next morning I woke up in the spare room and wandered out to see my couple having breakfast with a couple of surly looking pre-teens. The couple and I had made many plans to see each other again. We were highly compatible but the whole idea of playing while there were kids in the house creeped me out even if all doors were locked etc. I never saw them again. Shame.

What the hell is wrong with these people? If those children had exited that room for any reason, they likely would've been traumatized by what they saw. Also, indecent exposure in the presence of minors can lead to becoming a registered sex offender. What if something had happened at the party where someone required emergency medical attention and the minors were discovered? These people are crazy and everyone who attended the party should be thanking the one who made it known.

Crikey.

I've read the thread, and I'm with roughleather -

This is not a moral problem. This is a "dumb" problem.

They had morality enough to recognise that the children needed to be kept apart from the kink, but were stupid enough to believe that locking them up with a potty was an appropriate way to do it.

Yeah, but a lot of them aren't.

A lot of people have posted up comments that resent that someone has ruined their good time. They've posted that someone "hid behind a fake name", which judging from the flaming going on I don't blame him/her. Some have posted that it should have been brought privately to hosts, but the host admits to hosting over 60 events at the house and never said it before. He even goes so far as to say that people think they have the right to control which residents are home during the events. He misses the point that it wasn't really about who gets to decide that the kids were there, it's that people didn't get to make an informed decision about whether they wanted to be at an event where children were present.

I would NEVER attend any party if there were kids in the house...I don't care where they are.
