Anti-Abortion Extremists Distribute “Wanted” Posters for Abortion Providers

Last night’s Rachel Maddow Show reported that “wanted” posters targeting several abortion providers were distributed by anti-abortion extremists … just before those abortion providers were assassinated.......

Now, new posters are being distributed for three abortion providers in the Charlotte, North Carolina, region, effectively putting a bounty on those doctors’ heads. Source

Video Sigment on the story here

Now I am Catholic and pro life, however, nowhere can I find anything in the Bible advocating the murder of someone or putting their lives in danger on purpose.

Other Abortion Doctors have been placed on these type of posters and within months they have been murdered.

Rachel Maddow is considered a journalist now?

That can only mean that Limbaugh and Beck and Hannity qualify as respectable sources of news and information as well...

You are bypassing the freaking point Sanity. These are terrorists. No more, No less. Just like your Hero Rudolph.

DarkSteven -> RE: Some one want to explain which part of the Bible promotes this? (10/21/2010 4:53:53 PM)

It doesn't need to be mentioned directly in the Bible.  It's mentioned indirectly, when Jesus said (IIRC) "Render unto God the things that are God's and render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's".  In other words, follow the laws of your land.  The people who made the posters were accessories to murder.  Clearly against the Bible.

You have either missed the point of the topic (which I hope is the case,) or you dont give a flying fuck that some right wing extremists are providing this kind of information with the point of making these men targets.

If it is the latter, then I would have to put you in the same category as these extremists.

Well there is Exodus 22:18 - Do not allow a sorceress to live.

This is relevant because the concept of "sorceress" in those times was a woman versed in herbal arts, and one of their main sources of revenue was providing abortifacient herbs to women who did not want to carry a pregnancy to term.

There is also capital punishment for harming a fetus as an accident, presumably doing so deliberately would be worse:

If men fight and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly, as the woman's husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. (Exodus 21:22-25)

You know better than that.  He doesn't give a flying fuck.  There is no such thing as right wing extremist,  that are only Islamic extremist (which includes every Muslim in the world as far as he's concerned).

It is nice to see that he has finally come out of the closet with his new handle over there "Right Wing Asshole".  Now he can stop trying to pretend he is the middle.

That seems a very strange complaint.

You know perfectly well that they define abortion as murder.

"Thou shalt not kill" -> abortion is killing -> "and he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death" (Leviticus).

You may disagree, but so what? I disagree with their views too, but is it a crime for them to disagree with us?

I mean, what are you setting up here? A trial for heresy?

Surely you can do better than that.

Give me a break, do you not get the point?

People are advocating murder to stop abortion doctors and make the claim of being christian. They are giving out home addresses, names of children, spouses, work address, car make and tag number.

This has been done before and every doctor on these types of wanted posters have been murdered.

Abortion is legal, whether I agree with that or not, and in my opinion, it is murder. HOWEVER, since when is vigilante justice the proper way to handle what we do not agree with? I consider a lot of what conservatives stand for borderline on criminal, but that does not give me the right to go out and start killing conservatives, does it?

Numbers 35:31 - Moreover, you shall not take ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death, but he shall surely be put to death.

Genesis 9:6 - "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man."

Leviticus 24:17 - And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.

Did you read your own post? Have a clue what the topic title is? Your entire "point" was about the Bible. So what the fuck are you bitching about? I realize it would be hard for you even to type an omelette recipe without working "conservatives" into it somehow, but do at least try to stay on topic. It's your topic, after all.

~FR

since we are quoting bible verses.... here are a few you may wish to consider...

Romans 2:1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things

King James Bible
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

Matthew 7:1 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged.

Deuteronomy 17:7 The hands of the witnesses must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people. You must purge the evil from among you.

Luke 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Romans 2:3 So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment?

Aneirin -> RE: Some one want to explain which part of the Bible promotes this? (10/22/2010 1:12:45 AM)

The Bible, how can one take it as a serious moral guide for it is full of contradictions or is it a case of pick your route of understanding and apply it to how you want to live. Whatever route of understanding one takes, then is it a case of you believe this, then you must believe that and there act and the idiots in society act.

You know with the influx of Muslims into the western world, in Britain at least the Muslim Council claims it wants Sharia law to govern muslims in this country, that before the law of the land, the law the rest of us have to follow, this is wrong, dead wrong, whoever comes to live in a country must obey the laws of the land before any religious law and that goes for those who follow a Christian faith as well.

To act against the law of the land makes one a criminal so with literature being created to name and shame people who act against a religious scripture, is inciting violence, those people are criminals and should be treated as such, not religious people as they claim, for what they do in following their faith comes second to the law of the land.

To remember laws are created for the protection of  all, therefore everyone is subject to them all irrespective of their individual religious belief, for that takes second place.

But this religious thing, I know full well the great majority of people who follow a faith are law abiding  decent people and can see what is right and what is wrong, but there are always some who use the excuse of  a believed faith to justify their own homicidal instincts, perhaps the true antagonists and killers in society, the ones put there by nature to force the rest of us to be aware and create laws to guard against them.

Perhaps the time will hopefully come when we can recognise these writings from the past are what keeps us in the past in terms of evolution, for as our body and mind evolves, our morals get left behind in the words of the person that wrote them. As to the word of God, Allah, Yahwey whoever or whatever, interpretation is the key and with that the game of Chinese Whispers. We know inside ourselves what is right and what is wrong, we don't need writings from the past to tell us what we should feel.

They're going to need more posters. They left some people out. They forgot the those who eat shellfish, women who cut their hair, men who come in contact with menstruating women, people working on the Sabbath, farmers planting their fields with two crops, people who wear clothes made of more than one fiber, and anyone neglecting to sacrifice the proper bull.

Then you are not twisting the words around enough to make it work. Some people can twist anything around to make it justify their actions. That is how they help themselves feel good about what they are doing. I just hope they can trace the posters back to the original assholes and nail their asses to the floor.

Right wing extremists? Where did they mention that the group responsible was right wing? Or are you just assuming they are so you can use it to prove all right wingers are bad? You do realize that a lot of christians on the left are against abortion too, right?

tazzygirl -> RE: Some one want to explain which part of the Bible promotes this? (10/22/2010 5:20:58 AM)

I agree with what you said.. to a point. You will find extremists in every walk of life. Even in those who wish to uphold the original intent of the Constitution, there are extremists. Its easier to find an excuse for that extremism among religious beliefs.

Wayhayy !

Tazzy actually agreed with me !

..... to a point mind,

but at least something I said was agreeable.

That's it, I have decided to go down the pub tonight, this is a call for celebration.

EternalHoH -> RE: Some one want to explain which part of the Bible promotes this? (10/22/2010 12:45:50 PM)

I dont really care what the religious law is on the matter, because we don't live in ReligousLand. As long as you live on American soil, you are governed by secular law first, and any special laws of the nether regions come second.

Right now, abortion is legal (just like the death penalty), but enticing someone into a mental state to commit murder of medical professionals who perform certain procedures is not.

End of story.
