LOL, Mari! Just because I'd be happy to have someone over for a barbeque doesn't mean I want them managing my retirement plan.

I have a great difference of philosophy with the President, Mari. That's what he needs to get past, to get my vote. I'll try to laugh with damn near anybody.

Wait a minute....didn't voting for someone we would have over for a barbecue......get us Bush II ?
I found the Republican response interesting...particularly the Tea Bag(sort of republican) response to the response.Did Michelle Bachmann believe she was talking to a classroom of 6th graders ?

Mike, yeah, that's what we have now, "Bush2" or more correctly "Bush's third term."
I don't think I'd want to be at a barbeque with,..."Mr Excitement."

I suppose I should google up Bachmann's bit.

Don't get me started on how Bush won in 2000, Mike.

Don't get me started on whether or not Bush "won" in 2000 Rich.Every time I think about it the term "bananna republic" comes to mind.

If you mean the political activities report, Tazzy, I expect to see a thread just for that soon enough. No need to hijack here.

Not hijacking, merely responding to yours. And i truly doubt there will be a thread, or much interest in one on that topic.

Have you seen the forecasts of gas prices spiking again, Mike? $5 a gallon could put Gingrich/Palin into the White House. $4.25 might be enough

Gingrich/Palin would be enough to put me out on a ledge.I refuse to accept that as a possibility...too many thinking people in this country.Palin is death to any ticket....no matter which slot she occupies.
Please explain to me why the current administration takes the hit for rising gas prices.....is this something new?Gas prices have been rising since Mr Ford designed his first assembly line.....will an Republican administration find a way to stop this ?What are they going to do...bribe the oil companies with even more subsidies?

A safe, uninspiring speech. He played both sides, hoping to sound centrist without pissing off the left. Thats great for a speech, but it doesnt work in the real world. If he's true to his word and works on improving O'care and leveling the playing field on taxes (which doesnt mean what the libs on this board thinks it does), he can win re-election. If he continues to try and appease all sides the end result is the same as his foreign policy..non-existent.
