You don't really expect anyone to believe anything by O'Keefe do you?

Yup. Anybody who's head isnt up their own posterior. Bye Bye NPR funding.

Moonhead -> RE: Grubbing for Muslim Brotherhood money (3/8/2011 8:16:07 AM)

Of course the NPR is going to lose all funding over this. After all, neocon Beadle's last hilarious jape brought down Acorn, didn't it?

No, your wrong

I quote from the article: "The men, who identified themselves as Ibrahim Kasaam and Amir Malik from the fictitious Muslim Education Action Center (MEAC)"

you obviously didn't even read the article

NPR has just been punked, and at the worst possible time for their funding prospects. Who would you guess set up NPR employees, filming them them trashing conservatives and Jews? Yup, James O'Keefe is back, doing for NPR pretty much what he did for ACORN.
Bye Bye federal funding

So is O'Keefe still Breitbart's little puppet or has he branched out on his own?

truckinslave -> RE: Grubbing for Muslim Brotherhood money (3/8/2011 8:36:12 AM)

are posing as members of a Muslim Brotherhood front group. The men, who identified themselves as Ibrahim Kasaam and Amir Malik from the fictitious Muslim Education Action Center

Do you make it a practice to quote things out of context, was this an honest mistake, or do you just not understand "front group"?

People like you on the far left who routinely try to demonize everyone who disagrees with your cult-like ideology cant be expected to acknowledge information thats runs contrary to your rigid belief system, no. But more open minded individuals will take such new information in, process it, and form their own opinions.

Are you fucking kidding me?

This whole topic is about a cult-like ideology that demonizes respected news services like NPR which your cult deems to be too liberal.

Jennislut -> RE: Grubbing for Muslim Brotherhood money (3/8/2011 8:38:58 AM)

you have repeatedly failed to tell me how a fictitious group can be a front for anything - i have asked several times

Moonhead -> RE: Grubbing for Muslim Brotherhood money (3/8/2011 8:40:32 AM)

I think the Himalayan Trading Company was a front for Doc Savage and his dashing gang of sidekicks in the '30s. Does that count?

You have repeatedly failed to say what group you think is fictitious.

You might want to check that with Google, the Muslim Brotherhood is a powerful international force thats been in existence and exerting its influence since at least the 1920s.

they posed as representatives of a fictitious organization - how can a fictitious organization be a front for anything

and as far as the tea party - from what little i know about them what he said seems to be bang on

I would bet that you never even heard of The Muslim Brotherhood until FOX News made them the bogeyman In the Egyptian revolt.

It's like watching a rerun.

Whatever FOX says is parroted out by you.

Well, no I haven't. I haven't even tried. Let me now 'splain it to you thought.

The fictitious group represented/b] itself as a front group for the muslim brotherhood. They pretended. The gullible morons at NPR, on the basis of one little fake website, believed them. They were in the eyes of the greedy fools from NPR, a front group for the mb.

And NPR licked their boots.

"When the man pretending to be Kasaam suggests to Schiller that “Jews do kind of control the media or, I mean, certainly the Zionists and the people who have the interests in swaying media coverage toward a favorable direction of Israel,” Schiller does not rebut him or stop eating. He just nods his head slightly."

Its true that he didn't trash Jews but he did state his organisation was strongly pro-Palestinian which is unfitting for any mainstream media institution. Whether the video was edited to make him look bad or not, it does seem clear though that Schiller makes very pointed attacks on conservative values and politics. I think this goes to the core of a much broader problem that confronts everybody. Generally speaking, with a few notable exceptions, the media does have a definite left wing or liberal perspective, that is sometimes an agenda with "advocacy journalism" which has become extremely popular. I don't consider myself to be particularly right or left wing so don't have a big ideological axe to grind but it seems to me this bias is profoundly damaging because the media is the primary source of information in society. If there is a particular emphasis in one direction or the other, it will inevitably influence the direction of a given society for the bad (or if for the good then for the wrong reasons). I think an agenda driven news media is extremely undemocratic.

Are you sure? I don't think there's any media outside of Israel that doesn't lean that way at the moment. Even the Murdoch lot don't seem mad keen on the occupation of the west bank at present.

truckinslave -> RE: Grubbing for Muslim Brotherhood money (3/8/2011 9:48:09 AM)

Media in this country have always been biased, and usually openly so.
It's only since mid-20th century that the idea of an impartial media became the (impossible) ideal.
