Well I'd certainly disagree with that. In general the Germans may be far further to the left than us, but healthcare wise it's definitely the NHS that is. I'd also say the NHS is, on balance, better, than the German system (certainly cheaper and simpler)....although there are plenty of swings and some roundabouts.

Really, your US News & World Report article doesnt suggest that socialism begets better health as you claim, what it says is that Americans are slightly more obese, have higher rates of asthma, etc.

Which these arent signs of inferior health care systems, theyre signs of differing lifestyle choices and can account for more expenses incurred as well.





Says he who keeps making the point that the UK is Socialist. While I`m at it, if those Princeton dudes get it wrong, maybe your education system needs looking at as well.

Which it does, most colleges and universities here lean very hard to the left so their findings (even if it said what you think it did, which it doesnt) should be considered suspect.

Again, your article isnt claiming better health care, its claiming more obesity etc. Take off your bias filter for a change and try reading the article you posted, and get your first clue.

Its lost its way a little but I have to agree with you. As systems go it is pretty fair to eveyone. Difficult enough with a population of 60 million or so.

You realise that the US doesn't have universal healthcare?

Even if the NHS did have 5 year waits (which it doesn't) and didn't treat some things (which isn't true), it would still be better than the USA, where you have no wait because there is nothing to wait for....you just don't get any healthcare.

You're suffering under a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation.

Slow down sport. I said healthier ( Just like the report), not better health care, that was your slant.

Anyhow if worse healthcare makes us healthier, I can live with that.
