From your linked site:

The study, “Muslim American Terrorism Since 9/11: An Accounting,” reports that while 47 Muslim-Americans committed or were arrested for terrorist crimes in 2009, the number dropped to 20 this past year.

I have not read the study; I have no plans to do so. I have read enough PC bullshit whitewash for this lifetime. I have no more time for "studies" that deny the reality around me.

I'd take wagers, were they enforceable and the condition provable, from anyone else who has not read the study, that it does not classify Nidal Hasan as a terrorist, or his crimes as terrorism.

So the reality around you Mr. Orbison; is that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is under attack by islamic extremists?

reason and experience show that the administration doing the classifying can achieve any result they desire.

What was the name of that "Christian terrorist" group they raided to so much fanfare and janet-the-nappy cheerleading last year?

How do you feel about changing the name of Sons of Norway to sons of bitches, raising the entrance rates and letting all you neo-cons join as slaves?

The same way I feel about most of your suggestions, save those that move me to contempt and/or snide humor: nothing, mn, nothing at all.

Well, it is obvious that misinformation, lies, haranguing propaganda, and histrionics are what moves in your world.

You stole Peter King's 'to do' list, didn't you?

Your denying the facts does not change them. Your intolerance of a people based on nothing more than a bigoted opinion of the people. And you call me a bigot.

quote:

Anti-Government/Anti-Tax Extremists: There have been 36 plots by right-wing extremists since 9/11. These attacks include Joseph Stack’s suicide attack on a Texas IRS building and Joshua Cartwright, who became enraged after the election of Barack Obama and “believed that the US Government was conspiring against him.”

KKK/NeoNazi/White Supremacist: There have been 27 plots by white supremacists since 9/11.

Unknown/Miscellaneous: There were five attacks that federal crime officials did not categorize.

Christian Extremists/Anti-Abortion: There were three attacks by anti-abortion extremists and Christian extremists. The killing of abortion provider George Tiller is the most prominent of these attacks.

Black Supremacist Cults: There were two plots by black supremacist cults.

Jewish Extremists: There were two plots by Jewish extremists. The most prominent of these was a plot by Robert Goldstein to attack a local Islamic center with home made C4 and other explosives.

Extreme Anti-Immigrant: There were two plots by anti-immigrant extremists. One of these was the attack by Shawn Forde, who murdered a Queens deli clerk and was motivated by racist and anti-immigrant feelings.

Anti-Jewish: There was one plot by an anti-Semitic extremist. Norman Leboon made anti-Semitic threats against Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA).

Anarchist: There was a single plot by an anarchist. Joseph D. Konopka “wreaked havoc in 13 counties by setting fires, disrupting radio and television broadcasts, disabling an air traffic control system, selling counterfeit software, and damaging the computer system of an Internet service provider.”

As King Targets Muslims, There Have Been Almost Twice As Many Plots Since 9/11 From Non-Muslim Terrorists

Bill Maher had some unkind things to say about the Koran and Islam, so it must be true!Right

May I point out that Bill Maher has said a lot of things against ALL religions?

Here are a few examples:

“The Bible looks like it started out as a game of Mad Libs.”

“Religion to me is a bureaucracy between man and God that I don't need.”

“When we talk about values, I think of rationality in solving problems. That’s something I value. Fairness, kindness, generosity, tolerance. When they talk about values, they’re talking about things like going to church, voting for Bush, being loyal to Jesus, praying. These are not values.”

“We are a nation that is unenlightened because of religion. I do believe that. I think religion stops people from thinking. I think it justified crazies.”

“I think flying planes into a building was a faith-based initiative. I think religion is a neurological disorder.”

It's just the same for individuals too. Humans seem to possess an almost infinite capacity to rationalise things according to their prejudices.

People who openly admit their hate, who see no other solution than violence, belligerence and aggression, who disdain "studies" preferring unsubstantiated generalisations really ought to consider the virtues of reason and experience carefully and profoundly.

People who themselves are bereft of goodwill have no problem finding the same shortcoming in others. Just as homophobes inadvertently reveal the nature of their 'darker' desires, all such people achieve is advertising their own flaws, neuroses and bigotry.

Hate is the problem, never a solution.

I utterly agree.
But they won't let it be, and pacifism is not my way.
The balloon will go up, at their insistence, probably in the Netherlands or France....
Until then I'm just a voice in the wilderness.

If you agree hate is the problem, why do you cling to it so tenaciously? Why do you project it so virulently? Can't you see that you must and can only be adding to the problem? Blaming others is rarely, IMHO, an adequate excuse.

mnottertail -> RE: Republican Islamaphobia in terrorist hearings (3/17/2011 7:06:44 AM)

So what did we find out from these hearings that we didn't already know, and with severe government intrusions into our lives (which I assume will be left to the democrats) we can effectively do something about, while still having a free hand to interfere in other countries internals?

Will fuckin' duct tape work?
