Oh bull.   The premise - that he blew away is flawed.  It took him 3 years to releases a photo shopped fake.

Odd.  Powell's contention is that he produced a birth certificate that shut them up.  In fact, while I myself believe that Obama is a legit citizen, that's based on the fact that he was allowed to run.  Now that he's President, he has resources available to fake it if it was necessary.

I don;t think that it's racism as much as something else... the fact that he's black plays into it, but there's other things - he doesn't seem as folksy as Bush as a BBQ.  In a way, he's too perfect, too airbrushed.  He just doesn't seem like he'd fit in at a NASCAR event, or in a duck blind.

Producing his birth certificate isn't as definitive as killing OBL IMO.  He's shown himself to be an effective president, and that's more important than all the little squabbles Trump and the birthers are pushing.

Colin Powell just blew away any respect I once had for him. From mid-2008 through last week, Obama has released five, FIVE, visually disparate, computer-generated, online images proclaiming each one in succession as his authentic birth certificate. Now, I don't about Colin Powell, Obama or anyone else but I've only got ONE authentic birth certificate! In addition, not one of Obama's so-called authentic birth certificates has had the embossed seal of the State of Hawaii Department of Health on it as required by the Hawaii Department of Health. Lastly, Obama's latest so-called authentic birth certificate shows a different attending physician than the one Obama et al have been claiming from day one. Tsk, tsk Colin...you've been had too.

people are pissed and the states are passing laws that the colb is not good enough.  thats what this is really about.  slowing or trying to slow that train down.  in other words the states are on the side of the birthers and this was a thwarting attempt.

And I have posted proof that other states provide both a long form and a short form.

1.A computer-generated long form (needed for travel)
The computer-generated long form contains the:
◦state file number,
◦name of registrant,
◦date of birth,
◦county of birth,
◦place of birth (city),
◦father's name (if listed on the original birth certificate),
◦father's place of birth,
◦mother's maiden name,
◦mother's place of birth,
◦date record filed, and
◦the date issued.
The computer-generated long form can be issued only by the state office location – DHEC, 2600 Bull Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29201. The 46 county branch offices cannot issue the computer-generated long form.
2.A short form certification or birth card (cannot be used for travel)
The birth card is a wallet-size certification that contains the:
