Lucy, republicans do not care about the working class. History has proven this repeatedly. Since they took power in the house, they have done absolutely NOTHING to keep jobs in the US, create jobs, or even try to help people who are actively looking for jobs. Funny thing about unemployment that republicans in congress and on this board have seemed to have forgotten. In order to qualify, you have to be ACTIVELY looking for work. This means a written record of the company, who you contacted within that company and the result. This also means you have to accept any job offered. You have to report periodically to the unemployment office to talk to workers about what you are doing in your job search. You are disqualified if you stop looking for employment. But, I personally think that republicans believe that if someone was laid off because their job was outsourced, it is somehow the fault of the person laid off, not the company who did the lay offs.
