No, not a marathon. I just usually do four. Today I'll do two miles with the dog and then an all body sculpting boxing session. I used to run 5-6 miles two times a week last year plus a TRX class two times a week and a spinning class. I feel lazy now in in regards to that.

You might be doing less, but I wouldn't call you lazy. The marathon thing was a joke.

impishlilhellcat -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/16/2011 4:57:35 PM)

[:D]

I got the two mile walk in and some boxing, but the dog took me out. She tripped me and I twisted my ankle and sprained it. I'm definitely going to have to watch very closely what I eat the next few days while I heal.

KeriB -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/16/2011 8:53:04 PM)

Ouch, hope your ankle gets better Imp.

I got out and did a mile after work today. I got some insoles for my shoes and they were great the first day, but not so much the second. Also been drinking lots of water at work since I seem to just sweat it all out.

Check the freezer. Or the dog.

Very nice job blacksword.

I've gotten to where I'm eating a ton more fruit, but still have problems with finding the right protein balance. Have spent the last few days just walking around the flat and finishing unpacking/cleaning.

How much protein you need depends on what your goals are. How is the fruit working for you?

a TRX class two times a week

How did you like the TRX thing? Did it do certain specific things for you? I am curious about it.

Oh I loved it! I loved it so much that my husband and I bought one for our home. Unfortunately, we really don't have the space to use it properly at home. He uses it more than I do now. Once my ankle heals I'm going to go back to using it two times a week. I just found a few old workout routines packed away. It did amazing things for my body. I had crazy muscle in my arms and my core was really strong. It all core work and you use your own body weight and you can make the workout more difficult or easy depending upon where you place your feet.

Cool! I am going to take a closer look at it and see if it will work for me and my lifestyle right now.. Thanks. [:)]

The fruit/veg combination seems to be working as for the protein I need to be able to get through teaching class and not eating for about three hour blocks. I always seem to get hungry after about an hour and a half. I've been doing bagels with eggs, but just doesn't seem to last long.

Well as far as your hunger goes you can fill up on liquids like water to keep your stomach full and stave off hunger. Or put some food in it. Or both. You could try something small like cheese sticks. Two of them should give you about 16 grams of protein and 180 calories. That should hold you for the rest of the time. Those lunchables work well too. Just get one of those small thermal lunch bags.

Besides, eating every hour and a half keeps your body burning calories. Even if your total calories stay the same you will burn more.

Why don't you try a myoplex lite protein shake? You can buy them at walmart in a pack of four or you can buy myoplex protein powder and mix it with milk or water and drink it. The powder isn't lite and contains more protein and more calories than the lite. The lite is about 125 calories for a whole drink and it has 20 grams of protein they usually hold me over for about two hours. They are made with whey protein instead of soy, which is better for you. I'm sure you could drink while you are teaching instead of eating.

KeriB -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/23/2011 9:06:43 PM)

Thanks Imp and Blacksword for the ideas.

I do keep water with me and end up drinking about 4 quarts or so during the day. We don't have real air conditioning so the rooms are almost always boiling. I'll see if I can pick up some of the myoplex shakes next time I'm in town. How do they taste though? I'm not a big fan of chalky or odd fruity flavors. I did pick up some yo-plait frozen chocolate and banana smoothie things and was thinking I could add a heaping spoonful of peanut butter to it and it might help.
