Good grief, i need to not forget to stock my house with food.  I just sat here eating THREE damn packages of peanut butter cracker sandwiches i brought for work to keep on hand for those days we get caught up and forget lunch.  That's 18 lil sandwiches and 57 carbs -- blah, and i am still too lazy to go shopping lol!

I painted more this weekend - this is seriously a lot of physical work that i never realized and it actually has helped my back because i am stretching and such when i paint the ceiling.  When i am done, i am tired but its one of those feel good tireds i get when i am done working out.

Just as an aside -- OTHER THAN sex lol what other things that aren't labeled exercise but can be exercise and give you the same feel good tired.

I did two miles with the dogs today and that's all I did. It's my rest day. Tomorrow I'm starting the 30 day shred with Jillian Michaels. It's free on demand with charter on exercise t.v. In addition, I'm going to try and do 5 miles a day. 2 with the dogs and three on the treadmill. Yesterday, I did one of the weight loss workouts on the treadmill and my butt and thighs were killing me. It was just like I had run two miles.

barelynangel -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/7/2011 6:47:15 PM)

impishlilhellcat, 2 miles is better than no miles!!  Good job.  It's good you have a designated rest day.  I have heard the shred is hard lol.  But with your dedication, you should have some awesome results.  5 miles a day is a great goal.  I do about 3-4 right now but that's because i can't breathe in this heat.  When working out with weights, ache is your friend.  Be sure you are stretching, that will help.  You seem to know already the more you move the less the pain is.

Good luck, let us know how you like the Shred.

My doc was very happy with me -- though he was cracking up when i was telling him about my desire to kill for sweets these last 3 months.  I am a junkfood person not a sweet person but god i don't know if it was my meds or my body changing but damnit i was almost killing for sweets i would literally buy a box of mike & Ikes and just swallowing them.  It was horrible. He also told me he understood about my back and the lack of exercise and how frustrating it was getting for me.  He said his concern was my diet as he is more concerned with me controlling things that way and exercise being the bonus when i can do it again.  He thinks its my body changing and is giving me 6 months and then he wants to start weening me off the diabetic meds. So i have a lot of work to do in these next 6 months.  I need to stop making excuses.

I am very impressed with the direction this thread has taken, i am glad i keep coming back and viewing it.

Every since I've started working out I've been craving chocolate. It's gotten so bad my husband has banned chocolate from the house, but unlike you I am a sugar addict!!!! I haven't been using a lot of weight just the one pound weights when I walk on the treadmill. I usually do 2 miles outside with the dogs the rest (this week 4 miles) has been done in the house in front of the air conditioner. LOL. I can't handle much of the heat either and our route with the dogs is very hilly.

This thread has been a good motivator to just keep moving. I may not be able to work out the way I used to, but if I keep moving!!! I need to deal with my eating habits, but the first step was drinking more water and I've been doing that.

It will be great if you can get off the diabetic meds!!!

You might try a weighted training vest. I bought one from walmart that goes up to 20 pounds. I'm trying to get one that will go to 60 pounds. There are many different ways you can use it. You could put it on when you get dressed and go about your day. You'll burn extra calories without doing anything differently.

when you are on the treadmill do you walk on an incline? i dont jog since the jarring/pounding isnt good for my back so when i am on the treadmill i walk on a steep incline and hold the bar in front of me to keep me and my back straight. The incline can cause me to burn a lot more calories, almost as much as jogging would.

Yes,when I walk I usually do the weight loss programs. Just because it gives a variation and it works like sprints for me (brings my heart rate up and then allows it to go back down) They usually are kept on some sort of incline and then go up and down during the workout.

So today I started the 30 day shred and I started with the 30 day jump start. It was just a 15 minute workout. 2.5 mins of warmup and 2.5 mins of cool down and then there was 10 straight minutes of cardio. It was difficult for me because I'm out of shape, but the workout where those of when I was working out everyday. Now I'm about to do some walking on the treadmill. probably just a straight path ( no incline) since I know I will be hurting from the mountain climbers and such.

VirginPotty -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/8/2011 11:19:42 AM)

Oh geez, mountain climbers.....................falshback with Coach Creamy Crotch who used to make us do 3 minutes straight of those damn things!  Those & burpees!

impishlilhellcat -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/9/2011 11:14:17 AM)

I was sore from yesterday's work out at least my inner thighs and calfs were. Today I ran four miles on the treadmill. My chest hurts a little bit like it always does when I haven't run for awhile and tomorrow it's a kickboxing class designed to work all the muscle groups focusing on the core.

blacksword404 -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/10/2011 10:23:38 AM)

Had my barbell snap in two during curls. I'm glad it didnt break during skull crushers. Won't be buying another bar from Walmart.

Good grief, Blacksword!  Thank goodness you're ok!

Tues night did 3.5 miles outside, last night I did the 3-2-1 class and tonight it's back outside! 3.4-4 miles

impishlilhellcat -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/11/2011 9:37:58 AM)

Thanks for the article VP. I actually do both of those exercises even though I hate squat thrusts. They are the bane of my existence!! I hate them even more than GI janes! The kettle ball swing is pretty standard for me. Yesterday I had planned to do the kickboxing, but my whole body hurt. Some of it was from working out some of it was from just other stuff going on. So, today I did the 20 minute kickboxing routine and of course two miles with the dogs. Tomorrow 4 miles on the treadmill!

A cheap chinese welding job. I'll be sure to buy a single piece bar.

Glad I'm ok too.

I wish I had ya'lls determination. For the last two days I've gotten quite the workout at work, basically just walking around nonstop for 7 hour chunks. I've been to exhausted by the time I get home to exercise anymore than that. I will have to find some new shoes though, these don't have near the support I would like and my ankles are killing me.

That's a lot of walking. You could try to get your exercises in before you go in. You might try getting some calf raises in. They can help strengthen your ankles.
