That's great Zeph!!!

I am down three pounds from last week and extremely sore from yesterday's workout!!! I'm trying to get the motivation to get on the treadmill to do my four miles at the moment.. I figure as long as I make it happen by the end of the day I'm good.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/12/2011 7:06:57 AM)

what do you do when you're in that zone between where you were and where you're going, and you don't too much like yourself at this particular point? =p
i think that's what zapped my motivation. i'm at a point where i think i liked myself more before, and it's hard to keep going because im worried i REALLY won't like myself further down the line, and all the work will have been for nothing. hahaha =p
i've actually pondered gaining the weight back.

i think it might be insecurity. i managed to finally get a chunk of weight to go away and stay away, so i know i can do it. but i've always been "fluffy," to use a euphemism, and maybe i'm just used to it now? maybe the prospect of actually being different is scarier than i thought?

haha
i dunno!

A lot of it depends on why you wanted to lose weight in the first place. You came this far, you have to finish. After you get down to your Target weight you can see whether you like the way you look or not. If you don't you can gain it back. But no quitting in the middle. In about 10 or 20 years you will look different because of age. You can't be afraid of change.

Thanks Impy oh and welcome back, I missed you! You really rock, you know that, keeping up with the exercise and eating right. So 'grats right back at ya!

Thank you Zeph.. Missed you too and it's good to have been missed!

I really want to lose some of this extra weight and I just happen to be lucky enough to have this huge thing sitting in the middle of my living room. It really makes it hard to slack off!!! I am amazed that you have lost so much weight that's really determination right there!

Way to go Zephy!! [sm=pompom.gif][sm=pompom.gif]

I think I'm going to stick with the exercising I get at work, it makes me very sore. I'm going to concentrate instead on drinking more water and eating better, until I become more accustomed to work.

well the whole reason -- well 1) i gained 30 pounds in the aftermath of the bad stuff of two years ago. so getting that off was a way to help me "move on." i've got the majority of that off now -- yay!!
also, i have a knee that got angrier because of the extra weight; getting rid of the weight has helped that knee, and also helped my dancing.
THE primary reason, honestly, is because i want more clothes to fit! haha ^_^  completely and utterly frivolous.  i want to use less fabric in costumes, see a shirt or pair of jeans and just try them on without having to dig for a size, etc etc.

i think i need to add more weights to my workouts. i don't really even have any weights (and i saw a FULL SET of them being chucked out at the scrap yard the other day!! gaaah noooo!!!) so that's part of my problem. i think weights would help add definition, and definition is what's lacking.

All good reason to lose weight. I wish you could have gotten that set. As long as there was nothing wrong with it. You might try craigslist. Squats, deadlifts, bench press, military press, curls, pull-ups, skull crushers. Those are some of the best muscle building exercises there are. And you would just need a bar and bench to do them. And a pull up bar.

Lillybopeep,

You have to do this for YOU.  You have great reasons to lose weight, now take them a step farther and really help yourself understand what this means.   IF you want to gain back weight, make sure you do it with muscle and not fat.  So yeah lifting will help give your body a different shape that you may find yourself happier with.

Just think of this like growing out your hairstyle --- it may get worse before it gets better, it may get aggravating because the results aren't giving you what your mind's eye sees.  But now that you have achieved success, start looking at how you can accomplish what you really want from it all.

If you think about it, losing weight for clothes to fit gives you more than just clothes -- it gives you more confidence, it gives you more variety in expressing yourself, it gives you different looks you can achieve because of the variety, it allows you to build yourself into who you wish to be.  There is more success than frivolity in fashion --- it goes way deep!!

I did two straight miles on the treadmill today no incline. I'm feeling tired, sluggish, and exhausted today. However, we are going to take the dogs for a 2 mile hilly walk in about 30 mins so I will have accomplished 4 miles today.

blacksword404 -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/14/2011 7:49:40 PM)

Going to add another arm workout to things. Soon as I get another bar. Pretty soon I'm going to have to break out the jump rope and get my rocky on.

Lunged 15xb 3 sets. Squat jumps 15xb 4 sets. Calf raises 50xb, 50xb, 100xb, 50xb, 80xb, 100xb.

kiarsia -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/15/2011 4:51:31 AM)

I got to wrestle this past weekend for the first time in a long time. It was a TON of fun but it showed me just how badly out of shape I really was. I was panting and gasping for air and really struggling to hold my own. Granted the guy had 100 pounds on me and its hard to catch your breath when the person you're wrestling is fond of keeping you from breathing at all.....but still, it was one of the best times I've had in a long time and its good motivation to get myself back into better fighting shape so I can do it again and enjoy it for longer.

The stress at home has really effected my fitness routine this year and its been very hard to keep up a positive attitude in the gym while fighting depression and wondering if there is even a point to staying healthy anymore.

Of course there is a point to it. One of them for you is to be being slammed and pinned and not being out of breath. Life sometimes gets in the way of things, but you can't let it stop you. Besides, you know you enjoy it. Now get to hurting.

impishlilhellcat -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/15/2011 3:56:01 PM)

With this slamming headache all I was able to pull off was two miles with the dogs today.

Don't get to skinny. A woman has to have some meat on her. Even if it is just me.

Only two miles you say. That's plenty. Marathon in your future?

impishlilhellcat -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/16/2011 2:09:58 PM)

No, not a marathon. I just usually do four. Today I'll do two miles with the dog and then an all body sculpting boxing session. I used to run 5-6 miles two times a week last year plus a TRX class two times a week and a spinning class. I feel lazy now in in regards to that.
