I can't believe I did that. Posted the wrong thing in the wrong thread.. [8|]
I must have been tripping tits on aspartame or something.. [:-]

Thank you!!! I thought that I'd lost my mind. Even Fae's explanation made no sense to me. I feel so much better now & can go to bed with an easy heart.

FelineFae -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/26/2011 10:12:52 PM)

But i thought i was helpful. [:o]

SorceressJ -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 3:58:18 AM)

Helpful Fae-kitteh always helps. But this is a moot point when your OP is a dingbat.
Lin honey, if you're anything like me and find that you have lost your mind, I guarantee you'll never miss it.. [:)]

Good morning, my tribe. Had an omelette biscuit for breakfast at another stupidly early hour and am now about to go get my Thing up for school.
Must. Have. Nap. and some water.
After I have one, I shall get up like on other days and consider my morning Wii routine, amid the thunderstorms we are expecting (as opposed to the ones that passed in the night and knocked out our power).

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate and am made glad by all the action this thread is seeing, and how proud once again I am of everyone who is paying attention to their health and well-being in this and other ways. Thank you all very much for sharing; love and peace be with you and your house. )O(

Back later.. XO

So far this morning, breakfast has been two ibuprofen and a cup of coffee. Not the greatest, healthwise. But I guess it could be worse.

I really need better food if I plan on having enough fuel for a decent workout, but I slept in too late to make some eggs.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 7:56:01 AM)

In case you don't know, I am to have gastric surgery.  All that I have to do soon is some classes and initial head shrink appt.  Oh...much not forget the surgeon time too.

I am getting samples from some companies of vitamins and shake mixes.  I will miss my meats, pastas, rice, bread...wait...this sounds like the South Beach diet..I want Aktins!!!  At least that will allow me some meats.

I will check in and out for a bit.

mnottertail -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 7:57:22 AM)

you are going to find out after this surgery that there will be surprising things you cant eat.

satisfy yourself with about 5 peas for your first month of meals.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 8:50:12 AM)

I had to get up waaaaay early this morning--7:30!!--for an appt. I needed some change for the parking meter, so I went & got some Panera coffee. I treated myself to some arf n arf in it. I loves me some arf n arf now & again.

I'm now back home & eating my breakfast of yogurt & cereal. When I have to get up that early, I can't eat. I truly am nocturnal. Even if I get the correct number of hours of sleep, if I have to get up before about 10 or 11, I feel physically ill & can't eat. Right now I feel like going back to bed, but I have too much to do. I have calls to make & forms to fill out & stuff to put away. Even with the pain, I used the stairs instead of the elevator. I also parked a block away so that I'd have to walk that far. Later, I'll go out & do my walk around the block.

Lunch will be a big salad with some tuna on it for protein. I'm going to hard-boil some eggs to add to that.

SorceressJ -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 9:25:06 AM)

Well done, Lin. I too am acting in the face of physical adversity today, although not of the same nature as yours.
It is.. Very. Rainy. and I had a nice nap, but now I'm all.. hmm, what's the word I'm looking for here? Still tired (not sleepy) and achy and as gray as the sky out there. My legs HURT.
So now, if I am to keep with my regimen, I must talk myself into getting up off my considerable ass to go do my thing like I'm supposed to.
The rain disagrees. It is a sweet and nourishing rain as far as the Earth is concerned, but it does not encourage me to get up and move, know what I mean..?
Feeling 'bleah' for no discernable reason sucks a goat nut. But the trick is.. I am bigger than the 'bleah'.

See, Miss SJ? That's the trick. To be bigger than the adversity!!!

(CrossFit Warm Up)
Circuit of: lunge, overhead squat(5#), situp, back extension, pull ups, pushups, dips

Strenth work:
Overhead squats 2 sets of 10 - 45#

WOD:
1000m run (0.63 treadmill run, 3% incline)
30 HSPU(headstand push up) (toes on smith machine bar set at shoulder height, unbroken…time to progress apparently)
100 45# SDHP(sumo deadlift high pulls) (subbed for rowing, row machine is at other gym location…didn’t want to drive over there, now wishing I had)

Only got 60 of the SDHP, gassed out, took advantage of a client trying to interrupt me and let them

16:18

Cardio is still my obvious weakness.

15 minutes of work on the speed bag and heavy bag

Finally gave up and sat down to eat something. All of that on an empty stomach was not my best decision ever.

FelineFae -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 10:13:54 AM)

Breakfast, handful of meds and mnt. dew.
Exercise today will be going out shopping and climbing up and down the pole.

The outside is making me pretty drowsy, too, SJ.
It's all grey out there and telling me reasons not to make up my bednest.[>:]

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 10:26:21 AM)

Ahhhh, crap!!! I just remembered I'm supposed to be NPO after midnight tonight & zero caffeine for 24 hours. Oooops!!! Eleven am to 8am is kinda like 24 hours, right??

FelineFae -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 10:27:45 AM)

No caffeine ? [:(]

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 10:31:54 AM)

Yeah, they're trying to see how much torture I can hold up under, I'm thinkin. And then there's that whole getting up at the butt crack of dawn & driving into Chicago for the test. Without caffeine.

FelineFae -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 10:51:21 AM)

*hugs*

Not cool, humans. Seriously.

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 11:02:17 AM)

So...I picked up a couple of the Biggest Loser cookbooks during last year's health kick.  There are some pretty decent recipes in there if you like skim milk and yogurt.  [:'(]

This year, I've decided to play around with the recipes a little and try to get them to taste better without sacrificing too much on the calories.  Today, hubby and I tinkered with the Strawberry-Peach Smoothie.  Since I'm not a huge fan of peaches, I picked up strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries instead.  I also hate yogurt, so I had to find something to give the right texture but with better flavor.  I tried sugar-free vanilla pudding.

OMG, AWESOME!!!  I could eat this for breakfast or desert.  It was heavenly.  Here's the kicker - I ate twice the amount of food the Biggest Loser cookbooks give me (8oz vs 16oz of mine) and I ate fewer calories (181 vs 177).  The downside of this is that I got more carbs and less protein.  However, I'm not worried about counting carbs since I burn them off with exercise fairly easily and I've never had a problem getting enough protein.  If anything, I eat too much.  The best part was no nasty yogurt ruining my smoothie.  [:D]

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 11:16:33 AM)

I happen to LOVE yogurt!! But I like your clever substitution for those who don't like it. I eat the Greek Yogurt for 2 reasons: it's extra thick & creamy even though non-fat & it has a whole lot more protein than regular yogurt. I have difficulty incorporating enough protein in my diet.

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 11:30:07 AM)

I picked up some fat-free vanilla frozen yogurt too, in case the pudding didn't work.  I've eaten frozen yogurt before and didn't hate it.  I don't love it, but it isn't made of Fail either.  I'll see how that works out on the calories/protein.  I'm also using 2% milk instead of skim, but using less of it so it balances out.  I've heard good things about Greek yogurt.  The general consensus is that it's even healthier than regular yogurt.  I wish I liked yogurt because there were some super-yummy sounding flavors in the Greek but I just can't stand the bitter aftertaste and fuzzy feeling it gives my tongue.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 11:32:55 AM)

I prefer the plain Greek yogurt. Then I can put cocoa &/or coffee &/or fresh fruits in it. *drool*

FelineFae -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 11:49:55 AM)

i've been plotting about a salad dressing using yogurt, something tzatziki like.

Wednesday my flat-brother left for a LARP convention in Denver, and i thought it would be nice to take the pup out for morning walks, and it has been pretty nice. The air is cool and the skies are grey, don't know if i'm getting any vitD out of this, but the walks are still pleasant.
