Not every day is a whoop-ass day,
that's what makes whoop-ass days special.[;)]

you are going to find out after this surgery that there will be surprising things you cant eat.

satisfy yourself with about 5 peas for your first month of meals.

I take a salad with chicken...sans the dressing. Wait, that is the 2nd month...

I just need the Magic Bullet for my shakes.

I know you just want me to lose some weight so I can give you a BJ.[sm=owned.gif]

Yay to everyone doing good for themselves!!!!!

SorceressJ -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 2:54:35 PM)

My lunch: finely chopped roasted chicken breast, celery, tomato, onion, some leafy greens (you should all make sure you're getting leafy greens, you know..) and a tbs. of ranch dressing (no mayo, I've sworn off), all rolled up in a small flatbread, with a 20-oz. bottle of well water.

Still no Wii routine today, though. I'm sitting here watching the next wave of storms roll in, instead.
The thing is, it's STILL a Whoop-Ass day, just the same. I'm alive and happy and not in Joplin MO, in a beautiful green and flowering place partnered with a beautiful Man, (I'm broke but) my fridge and cupboards are full, my bills and rent are paid, there's gas in my truck, my kids are fine, and in three weeks there have only been 3 or 4 days when I have not done my routine(s), so it's all good and I'm entitled.

Rock on, y'all..[sm=banana.gif][sm=banana.gif][sm=banana.gif]

I seem to be having a hard time convincing myself to eat. I think that the problem is that I still don't have my kitchen to where it's easy to prepare my food. And the back pain when I stand up to do the prep work is something that I keep putting off. I'm slowly getting things in order, but I skipped lunch today. I kept meaning to eat, but then I'd do some work in the apt & end up having to sit down from the pain & the time would just fly by.

I wonder if I set my alarm would that help me to remember to eat? Right now, I'm so hungry & tired I just want to order pizza; which would mean 2 pizzas, since they're boy one get one free & with my lack of funds, I can't just buy one. *sigh*

ShaharThorne -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 3:44:53 PM)

I am trying to sip into a liquid diet slowly because I know that I have to do a 2 week of nothing but fluids.  I am trying to get a membership at Anytime Fitness because they have the equipment that is necessary for the strength training and weight loss.  I will have to drink whey proteins and find a skim milk [:'(] to mix them in.  I want to keep my 2%.

GhitaAmati -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 5:34:16 PM)

Lin, finding the prep time to fix food is my biggest problem, also. I don't have the added trouble of pain that you do (- can't imagine) but with 13 hour work days and fatigue thanks to quitting meds cold tirkey, getting into the kitchen in time to prep healthy meals before its time to eat just doesn't happen. What I have found to work for me is, instead of finding time to prep every single meal, I prep a weeks worth of food at a time. Grilling 5 pieces of chicken in one BIG pan takes about the same amount of tim as grilling one small piece in a little pan. Cutting up veggies for 5 salads doesn't take much more time than cutting them up for one. I spend one day a week in the kitchen, put everything into littlee tupperwares, and then when its time to go to work, I have a stack ready and waiting for me.

And yes, setting the alarm on my phone to go off at certain times every day DOES help me remember to eat.

GhitaAmati -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 5:40:16 PM)

Shahar....I stop eating solid foods whenever I am stressed, I've spent a lot of time working out the best way to get a complete nutritional meal from liquids.

Instead of milk as a base, I use unsweetened almond milk. All of the benifits of skim milk, none of the bad effects of dairy, less carbs, and less fat. Lower calorie so more room to add calories from more nutrient dense sources.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 5:41:43 PM)

Yeah, Ghita, that was my plan. But the fear of the pain keeps me from even starting. That's the real problem. I have plans to spend a day cutting up fruits & vegetables, but in order to do that, I have to spend time clearing a space. Ever hear of the spoon theory? I keep using up my spoons for the day. LOL As far as time goes, I got nothin but time!! I'm not working right now due to the pain.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/27/2011 6:14:47 PM)

I had bought a really nice looking pork loin roast Wednesday with the thought to cut it into chops. I did that tonight & OMG!!! So so much better than what they sold me last week as a chop. I got 7 approx 1/4 lb chops out of it. I had to freeze the rest & I really hate how freezing meat changes the texture & flavor. Oh well. I also had the sweet potato patties & I made myself a sorta salad. At least I got my leafy greens, Mommy SJ. [8D] I drizzled a little bit of poblano ranch dressing over it. Yummmy.

I have to be NPO after midnight tonight, so I'll have a little yogurt before going to bed. Since I had to be up too early this am & wasn't allowed caffeine all day, bed will be soon. Oh, & I did a lot of walking out to the car & out to the garbage can & recycling today. Night y'all.

I feel really good about my food choices today.  I have eaten ZERO junk food, including winning the battle against Teh Ebil Grasshopper Cookies.  [:)]  I'm already 274 calories under my daily goal and I still have 10 minutes of cardio left to do on the HealthRider.  Spyder is the most awesome husband in the known universe for all the weighing, measuring and calculating of portions he did for me today.  (He's waaay better at math than I am.)

So...I picked up a couple of the Biggest Loser cookbooks during last year's health kick.  There are some pretty decent recipes in there if you like skim milk and yogurt.  [:'(]

I enjoy yogurt and drink only skim milk, all other types make me ill. Sounds like something I'll have to look into.

I've started making fruit smoothies for breakfast with just a crapload of fruit (berries, mostly) and hemp powder, I've been told by my health freak brother that it's better for you than any other supplement powders. He has defined it as a "health bomb". My blender is an epic fail when it comes to making the smoothies but, it was free so I'm just doing what I can with it.

Today I woke up at my normal 4am to go to work and parked far enough in the back of the lot that my total walking time from parking lot to clinic where I work was almost 20 minutes. There was, of course a repeat of this to go home. I came home and passed out for about an hour and now am finishing getting ready for company this weekend.

I'm continuing to clean out my fridge and freezer so I had some raviolis with pesto for lunch with a big huge bottle of water.

I've yet to decide on dinner.

GhitaAmati -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/28/2011 4:42:46 AM)

I don't usually workout on the weekends, I always take saturday and sunday as my rest days. I still try to eat decently and not drink too much. That's going to be real hard this weekend because Daddy K is here visiting and he has a bad habit of grabbing me a beer everytime he gets one for himself. Which is often.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/28/2011 4:49:11 AM)

I had to be up early for a medical test. I've been without food or drink for the last 9 hours. I'm hungry, in caffeine withdrawal, thirsty & cranky!!! And the test isn't for another almost 2 hours. I'm taking Stok's & water & a pain pill with me so that I can ingest these things asap after the test. Then I will fight the urge to go out for a huge breakfast, come home & eat my yogurt & cereal. Today I'll cut up the fruit & veggies for the week.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/28/2011 5:03:43 AM)

I have been eating winter mix (broccoli and cauliflower) but there is a problem...it is mainly stock, not florets.

Next time we go to town (next week), I am getting 2 heads of broccoli and 2 of cauliflower and make up my own winter mix.

Day 3 of walking the doggy. i like it. 'Been going a bit further each day.[:D]
'Thinking about going on an evening walk too, before it gets too dark.

On the downside, Doom Cat has stole and hidden my deodorant [>:]>^..^<

SorceressJ -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/28/2011 9:16:16 AM)

Ok, this is my one day completely off of my normal regimen a month, folks. Moonrise, you know.. [&:]
Breakfast was a Hershey bar and some saltine crackers, because that's all my stomach could stand and because I by gods wanted the chocolate (strictly for medicinal purposes).
Drinking lots of water and enjoying a nice calming lull on a beautiful Satyrday that is thankfully not too hot. If I am up to it I will also do some stretching here in a bit. No Wii today though, I think, and no lifting or Momuchan's or Tae-bo, for sure.
I will almost certainly be better by tomorrow, it's usually only the first day that's rough for me.
*ack*

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (5/28/2011 9:45:10 AM)

I passed the test with flying colors, although I felt very very weird there for awhile, with my heart galloping along at 130+ bpm & my blood pressure up around 180. Thankfully the drug wears off very quickly & I was fine within minutes after. I came home & drank a bottle of water & ate a banana. I'll be having the rest of my breakfast soon. I can go back to my nocturnal schedule now. WOOT!!!
