I generally don't treat women "traditionally" or act a certain way towards women because they are female.

To be honest, I would consider what she said as rude and lacking all social graces, but not as abusive. Makes you wonder who creates those rumors and what they are trying to achieve? I think it's the people who want to put back time, you know have women shackled to the kitchen sink (possibly because they're worried about the competition in the work place by women) and call it the "good old days"... Seems the ministry of misinformation is doing overtime...

Didn't see it...I experienced it. Probably 15 - 20 years ago. Post office, held the door for a woman about 45....got "I can open my own damn doors, than you very much!" So I simply smiled and said "and a fine fuck you to you too".

There is not one definition of being a men or a "real" men. Society is made by the people of which the given society consists, therefore society is not an dark, unknown power who can make something hard for a group, not even for the cough real men. Questions like that are quite funny for me, because male and female roles are changing through the story of mankind on the one hand and on the other hand there are some biological facts that are given. In my experience real men and women are not hindered in any way by society.
