knees2you here.

How many people here were or are Harry Potter fans?

I think it did better the the Star Wars series?

What do you think, and what movie series did you like the best?

Always, knees2you~

I did read that it had a better opening or something (this last movie) than Star Wars. Like Heather, I am not a Star Wars fan. I can't wait to see this final movie. Read all the books.

I always end up dozing when watching the second StarWars trilogy (4-5-6). Never made it to the end. I wonder if it's some mind control thing they use - > conspiracy freak < - .
As to harry potter, I gave it up on the chalice of fire movie. Order of the phoenix was a dreadful movie IMHO. As to the books, I forgot all about it by the end of book seven. Looking for a new author to follow - suggestions welcomed. AND please, not that vampire and werewolf drivel. I'll kick your ass.

Me neither. I tried....I even watched the first movie again a week or so ago, thinking I would give it another go.

Try Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series. Yes it's vampires and werewolves but this is a whole nuther thing; the books are AWESOME! Just make sure to read them in order or some things won't make sense.

I'm sorry....did you say.....drivel? Obviously, you are not a rapidly approaching middle-aged woman who has experienced seeing a certain vampire in shades strut across the parking lot in slow motion to mood-inducing background music.

Yeah, well , I am not , but my 40's are almost around the corner, and that is upsetting enough. Please don't remind me, it's depressing. And yes , twilight is not a saga that sounds anything close of interesting, at least not to me.
The parking lot and old lady, is it a reference to some known book or movie? Really, I'm clueless here.
Maybe it is a reference to an angela lansbury movie - " the company of wolves" ?

Oh, I get, I get it, maybe it's not a word usually employed in conversation by younger people. Now that i think about, it was not the best word to use here, period.

Mental note: expand vocabulary / research grammar.

I understand what drivel means. I was feigning horror at your dislike for the Twilight series, and referencing a scene from the movie that is popular among women. It was a somewhat comical (I thought) response to your posting, indirectly aimed at other women who also have an appreciate for that scene in the movie.

I liked both Edward and Jacob (but I would have call myself team Jacob *gag*).

I havent seen the movies, and have no plans to unless they happen to show up on a non-premium channel and NCIS, L&O, or USA/TNT isnt showing something else I wanna see..

I don't think of this as the Harry Potter age ending. For me, that was when the last book came out.  The movies are simply an echo of them.

I loved the first three Star Wars movies, the original trilogy, and I was not that interested in the last three (although I watched them). My son grew up with Potter. He and I read all of the books together and watched some of the movies together. He isn't interested in the last two movies. I am going to see the last one alone, because he won't go.

I watch the LOTR about once a year and I have read it three times. I get a new message from it every time. I moved over the last couple of weeks and uncovered my LOTRs copies, did not have TV hooked up, so I watched them again. The LOTR movies will be watched like the Wizard of OZ. Most people I know own copies of them, and watch them repeatedly. Nothing compares to the LOTRs, although I do enjoy Harry Potter, and have read the series twice.

Potter was made for children to grow up with, like the Little House books, and that in and of itself makes Potter a stellar series, one which will speak to kids past the generation it was written in...
