FR: I was thinking of whether or how we could "police ourselves". What if we started a thread ... say call it "Personal Insult Scoreboard" ... and if you felt someone gratuitously insulted you, you'd post their nick, a link to the specific post, and a running score. Of course, we'd not all agree what was a "gratuitious insult", but it really wouldn't matter. The point being that if you did post it in the Scoreboard thread, you could not respond at all to the insult itself. Posting it to the Scoreboard would be the only response to the insult (although not any other on-point content in the insulter's post). This would not be a "reporting to the Mods" thing. The Mods would not be required or expected to take any action. Of course, they could more easily moderate and take action if they so desired by simply checking out the Scoreboard. You could still use all the standard features of the forums, including the "Report" buttons, if you really wanted to do so. There are some other issues, but ... just throwing out the idea ....? Comments? Firm
