Titles: are just that unless they are awarded, most are honorific by nature. If someone is respected in their local community then they may find that the term Master is placed upon them by others as a sign of respect. I tell people that I am Master to those whom are my charges, but I never require nor expect that from others until it was laid on me by the nature of my duties within the community. I am the coordniator and one of the instructors for the APEX Academy/Butchmann's Experience and was the Dungeon Master and trainier for APEX for about six years. Now some consider themselves Master because of the fact that is what they feel they are, or because they wish to be. I tell people that Mastery is a journey not a destination and if someone calls you that title as you journey except it for what it is an honorific. Also Master is non gender specific, it is not bestowed on one just because they have exteral bits. See my article: http://www.leathernroses.com/domination/drgnlordtopdom.htm where I explain it a bit more in depth. basically no one whats to start at the bottom of any new community all want to be a big dog, it is more prevalient online than in the off line world because it offers more anonimity to those behind the keyboard, harder to do when you are hold the single tail or giving directions in the front of your peers or even in front of an experienced Bottom/Sub/Slave (note: the caps, these are proper nouns and therefore are capped) (pet peeve of mine) well. back to the original question I was given it as I earned it and I wear it with humble pride, it is a badge of status not a cudgle of power, the power is within the dynamics of those involved at the moment.
