As soon as he followed his sub to Canada like a good puppy, I went back to my name. [I found out years later that the other Top Tops in that city took him under their wings to help make him a responsible Dom because, the way he was going by himself, they expected to see him & the BdSm in the headlines ... as the police were digging up his yard. Every one of the Top Tops though he was a jerk.]

For me, the title "Master" is a recognition of expertise & excellence given to a teacher by disciples. No one in martial arts proclaims themselves a Master.

As it's been said by someone's granny: "If a woman has to tell you she's a lady, she probably isn't." Same thing with a Master!

Dear Divinesub, Ladies and Gentlemen;

You will indeed find many individuals declare themselves [insert title]. Some have earned their titles and rights to wearing leather, the old fashioned way of the 1970's-1980's standards and those who earned such in the 1980's to 2000's standards.

The judgment of my peers have given me the titles I cherish. My slaves have also given me titles that I cherish as well. However, I started with Hugs as a name. My introduction to the personal computer and the ISP having a person named Hugs already on there, often forces one and all to 'add' to our preferences.

For me, Lady Hugs is more than a title of Lady but, a state of behavior. Those who have met me personally have kept my title honored and remains undisturbed to this day. Although I identify as a Master, I teach in a academy as a Master; I am addressed by Masters and slaves alike, anything from Lady, SIR, Master, Mistress, M`Lady, Goddess and other respectful titles. I consider myself honored each time I am recognized as a skilled dominant and able to share so very much of what I've acquired by first hand experiences. Each time a slave calls me Master--I am honored. Each time I am called Master by my fellow Masters. I am honored. Just, sometimes men and women have difficulty in calling a woman Master. So, I keep it open as to address me as what feels comfortable to me.

I may also add, that once bestowed with the title of what ever a particular individual chooses, the work does not stop in the maintaining of that title. Keeping skills up, knowledge up and keeping true to the duties and responsibilities will never end until at one's final resting.

My favorite is my Lord as well. Either WE title ourselves or are titled by others. Helps if your in a non profit medeival recreation society. In either case one must 'earn' the responsibilities and privilages there to apertaining. Be they Lord or Lady, Master or slave, Husband or Wife. Father or Mother. Living up to the expectations embodied or headered by a Title, is what justifies it's implementation.

I don’t use Master as part of my screen name as a title I use it so that people can quickly identify my sexual role, I use it in a descriptive way and not a honorific and where I come from it would not be regarded as a honorific title in any respect. I am not sure about other parts of the world though in Britain Master is the correct formal title given to any young boy before he becomes a Mister. I am not that old and even I remember going to get a prescription from the local chemists and the word Master would be before my name on the medicine bottle. I also clearly remember there being a boy in my year at school called Bates, much mockery was directed towards him on account of the word Master preceding his name.

I only use the word to master before my name because it is the most widely accepted term used to express my adopted sexual role, I don’t use it to garner any honour by it and I certainly don’t expect anyone to use it in any sort of formal way. I use it in the same way that a slave uses the word slave before their name so people can easily identify them as a slave.

Personally I don’t insist that a slave refer to me in any particular way though I have nothing against people who do, I can see how forced formality might be appealing to some people.

Well I call Myself PeJay, as I feel anything else would be daft, at the beginning she called Me sir, but as things developed and I became her master, she called Me Master. We're both comfortable with that and see no reason to change!

When I first entered the lifestyle I introduced myself wtih my first name. After a few months of interaction I noticed others introducing me and referring to me as 'Sir'. A couple of years later I was asked to join a local House, one that was very well respected. After accepting I began to be introduced and referred to as 'Master'. My girl calls me Master, Sir, Daddy, and sometimes Asshole Sir, depending on the situation.

I still introduce myself with my first name, or my House name (minus the Master), depending on where we are and the situation at hand.

My title, "senile old coot" was given me by a slave I had just over a year ago. It must be an apt title, since it is still being used today.

I was playing poker for alternative lifestyle titles one night and was doing pretty damn good until they swapped the deck on me, something about 7 aces??

I had enough made (made mind you) at that point to call myself Sir Lord Master Knob of the Umpteenth Order of Narcicisstic Poobah's, LLC...

Then the bottom fell out... along with the new deck with only 4 aces, I lost it all... even lost my real name!

For years I wondered the planet, trudging rivers and swimming over mountains... wondering wondering wondering... who am I?

My screen name has nothing to do with what we use in our lives. It is just something typed in when creating an account.

In play I started calling her "my pet" and it felt right. She called me master for years, never sat right. Recently she called me Daddy and that has sort of stuck. Otherwise I think I would laugh too much if anything so falutin' as "Lord Hungus" or "Pain Master" were ever used. To take a name like that just seems so conceited.

My title was given to me at birth. My first and last name. Beyond that it means very little. It is kind of like BS, MS, PHD anotherwords BullShit, Moreofthe Same, and Piled Higher and Deeper. I'm dominate by nature but I need no title to know who and what I am. If a sub wishes to refer to me in some lofty manner that is her choice not my requirment. I prefer to be addresses by my first name.
