ORIGINAL: LillyBoPeep maybe you should add it anyway, just so that it's reflected. it is pretty obvious though. =p i think i'm not going to add it because: 1. Options 1-10 have been filled, people have already voted, and it would mess up the count to change it now. AND 2. It wasn't really where i was going with this poll anyway. What i was really trying to figure out was whether there's a tendency to agree with what a poster says simply because of their gender or orientation. What happened was, there was another thread, and this female slave asked a question. The question was more or less along the lines of: if your Master tells you to one thing, and your conscience tells you not to, who do you listen to, your conscience or your Master? I had a hard time answering that question, but in the end i said, do what your conscience says. Upon reading the various responses, i began to feel that, people might have answered differently if a male had asked the same question, or if the Master had been the one asking about whether his own actions were appropriate- whether he would have gotten different advice than this slave got. It made me wonder whether there is a double standard in how forum members respond to people of different genders, or different orientations. Is the advice that people give consistent across the board, or do we tend to sympathise with one gender or orientation more than another? So, you see, i'm not really asking about biases per se, but whether there's any double standard in the advice that's offered. The casual play/prudery question is a good one, but i think it should be a different thread. i will wait a while, to see if anyone else wants to run with it. If not, i may start another poll addressing that issue. pam
