One of the things that bothers me are some of the rampant generalizations made withing "the scene".

I've been told that I'm not dominant because I use proper capitalization and don't make a fuss if some submissive doesn't capitalize whatever pronoun he/she uses to address me er, ummm, ME, sorry.   Proper grammar is much more important to me.    Understand that I'm not being critical of others, to each their own.

The other one is that if you're not involved in the local BDSM community then you are unsafe and, in the words on one profile..."probably a psychopath".   There are lots of reasons for not being involved, and some of them could be as mundane as having other commitments.  Besides, I've read that most serial killers assimilate quiet well into society.

We're all individuals, and I guess to sum up...we associate here to speak freely of our kink, but the BDSM Community has always contained a few that are more judgemental than most of the vanilla types.

One of my pet peeves is men who send me erotic stories in lieu of establishing conversations with me.

Another is those who ignore a specific question(s) that I may have asked but still expect me to answer more of their questions.

Finally, people who go *poof* after a connection has been made. I mean seriously-- make up something--lie to me if you must but just going *poof* shows a distinct lack of character.

Note: I'm not encouraging lying. I'm just saying why is it easier to go *poof*?

Oh my, yes, the erotic writing. Getting one of those like a bolt out of the blue is always so exciting.

Most people are not writers, they figure if it's about sex and kink then it magically becomes readable. I can't tell you how much I feel like barfing when someone I don't know drops a poorly written 'story' in my lap about an xrated subject and expects it to make me all moist. I don't want a conversation with someone who has no idea of personal boundaries and worse still, no idea their writing sucks balls, lol.

How about songs....either when they're posted on a profile or sent as a message? I mean really? You have nothing to say for yourself personally so you'll cut and paste something someone else wrote and think it has a deep profound significance. I get that music can be inspiring and it can touch your soul, so put in why you like that song or what significance it has. Just saying I love this song...xyz....and having it stand alone there in place of something more personal is just so juvenile.

Pet peeves in profiles and introductory messages:

"I'm an alpha male"

"I'm very oral"

I don't interact too much via cmail, but I've always been puzzled when I come across
a dominant profile that states "I'm not really sure what I'm looking for".

poise, ain't that the truth. How contradictory, eh?!

How about those fellows who, in their first email, innundate you with beau coup details and topic about themselves, their past, their problems, what they don't like, and everything they're looking for in a gal. All kinds of stuff you haven't asked about, isn't time or space appropriate, and you really don't want to know about. They seem to lack the skills or ability to communicate in a balanced, interactive way. How frustrating!

Another challenge, is those who are negative about everything, either in their profile or posts. Nothing turns me off quicker than someone who only knows how to say or point out what's wrong, and what they don't like and want. Know what you like, appreciate and want, and say what it is. A whiney, negative man is NOT a turn on!

I can't tell you how often this happens!

When I get a fellow telling me how wonderful my profile is, how it means so much to him, how he wishes all women were like me, and I'm EXACTLY what he is looking for in a women, and yet when I ask him what is there about it that he likes, and why, in his own words, all I get back are copy and paste pieces of it. I mean, come on fellows, do you really think I am that easy and stupid? Get a clue! You're gonna have work a little harder than that.

Dang, you've covered them all!! You and your blanket statements!!

I hate everything and everyone.

I decided years ago it was simply far too much effort to remember why someone had pissed me off in some past time period, so this has just made my daily existence so much more streamlined.

Or conversely never here from him again because the email was a cut/paste and he hadn't read it at all.

Mine is guys who write me claiming to be the loving sadistic bastard I'm looking for and when I read their profile they are kinda sorta sometimes sadistic. Maybe I should tell them to read posts by Kana and Resident Sadist?

Yeah, deception earns a -1...
I don't want to meet another dude who says "topping from the bottom" if I'm a little different than he is...

Another one - the way masochists are described as one-dimensional or in it for themselves. That's just nnot how it works inn my brain.

I don't think it's deception so much as it is not understanding just how sadistic a man I'm looking for. I used to try to explain but they would try to argue it.

Fucking dribbling coffee down my front, onto a clean sweatshirt, while reading about peeves.

And fucking Mondays. Being one of those cute lil stay at home house fraus I read about in another thread sounds pretty fucking sweet right about now. I would be CHILLIN!

You can't have an opinion on that though or else you're not a twue sub! You should just be happy with whatever comes your way, cause in an ideal world, the Darke Lorde Dominate men would lay siege to the planet, and a man could just grab up any woman he wanted, and kill whoever stood in his way!

Eta: I don't think it's outright deception, either, you're probably right about them not understanding, but also there's a lot of posturing sometimes... especially here on CM where the self-identifiers are so limited. Plus, beinng a Sadist with a capital S is kind of a badge of coolness. :p
I don't want to feel like a guy is just following my directions, and you knnow, I donn't need to be obliterated and rebuilt every evening, but I have learned that I need someone who is actually willing to go there
